    Simple Machines:

    Lever- is simply a plank or ridged beam that is


    free to rotate on a pivot. 

    Pulley-comprises of a wheel on a fixed axle, with


    a groove along the edges to guide a rope or
    cable.
    Incline plane- an even sloping surface

    Screw-an inclined plane around a cylinder


    Wedge-is an object that comes to a thin edge.

    Wheel and Axel- is a machine consisting of


    a wheel attached to a smaller axle so that these
    two parts rotate together
