Energy in Colombia has mostly been through electricity generation, all this
given that there is a potential for large rivers and water sources that have
made it possible to build large dams for the generation of electricity. Wind
energy has not been very developed in this country, its development is
incipient despite the great potential that has with reference to the winds and
the geographical position that Colombia has. The projects that have been
developed are in the department of La Guajira and there is no significant
boom, it is worth mentioning that this region has great potential for the
generation of this energy, but it has high installation costs and there is no
cash flow to evaluate the results versus sale of electricity. This type of energy
would contribute to the demand during prolonged periods of runoff that occur
during the child's phenomenon. But it has been more taken into account in
these periods but not permanently for the development of alternative energies
that reduce environmental impacts and help protect our environment, as well
as take actions to reduce climate change. These clean energy projects have
tax incentives according to Decree 2755 of 2003 (Ministry of Finance and
Summ
Public Credit, 2003). It has a tax exception for 15 years, as well as the
ary of
issuance of carbon emission reduction certificate.
the It is important to make known that wind energy projects can be monitored
article and evaluated permanently in real time, since these can be built in stages,
high volatility on winds and energy prices are measured. Colombia has a high
potential for the development of this type of alternative and clean energy,
which would not only leave large dividends but also help in the protection of
air, soil, water and the environment. It is an inexhaustible energy because the
winds are always there or that makes an important resource and pruned
explored in this territory.
