a mile long pedestrian mall in Buenos Aires, popular for its
gem, leather and fur stores. It is also popular with tourists
interested in opulent (grand) 20th century architecture.

Music, Entertainment and Culture


Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires is one of the top opera
houses in the world.
The romantic dance–the Tango–was born in the port
neighborhood of La Boca in the 19th century. Many
dancers perform in the streets of La Boca and stage
performances attract visitors day and night. Nightlife in
Buenos Aires is active. Bars, bistros, and dance clubs are
open as late as 5AM.
Argentina is well equipped with Spanish language schools
and can draw many foreign students who want to study the
language.
Shoppers can buy quality leather goods such as shoes and
handbags. Argentina produces gems and creates attractive
jewelry.

Health, Recreation and Sports


Kayaking, canoeing and other water sports are popular in
the country’s parks and nature reserves.
Pampas is a vast, treeless grassy plain of Argentina,
where gauchos (cowboys) herded the grazing cattle ready
for market in the big cities. One or two day excursions
are available to visitors who would like to spend time on a
ranch (estacias) and go horseback riding on the pampas.
