Aren’t we thankful to be part of an outdoor enthusiast group so we have some

reprieve from the hunker-down-and-stay-at-home order? Wow, what a great time
to be tooling through the woods in an offroad vehicle, going for a long drive
down a back road in a favorite sports car or throwing the toys on the back of a
truck or on a trailer and heading for a favorite fishing hole. These are the days!
This issue is extra jam-packed with trucks, cars and SUVs that might fit the

2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
Recently, Chevrolet debuted a new look
for its Colorado midsize truck franchise.
The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado made its first
public appearance at the 2019 Method Race
Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic on Oct.10,
driven by Hall Racing. The 2021 Colorado
ZR2 then debuted at the SEMA show in Las
Vegas.
The Colorado lineup will now feature
greater differentiation from trim to trim
and the addition of the new “Sand Dune
Metallic” exterior paint color option
available on the Z71 and ZR2 models.
All Colorado variants will also include
revised front Chevy “bowtie” emblems and
embossed “Chevrolet” tailgates in place of
the traditional Chevy bowtie on the rear end
of the vehicles.
“We’ve sold 520,000 Colorado pickups
in five years through a relentless, foot-on-
the-gas approach to product and feature
updates,” said Bob Krapes, director of
marketing, Chevrolet Trucks. “With its new-
look front end and tailgate, Colorado will

now have a more aggressive appearance to
match its award-winning capability.”
The WT, LT and Z71 Colorado trim levels
will all receive updated center bars, lower
fascias and front skid plates for 2021. WT
and LT will feature all-new gold Chevy
bowtie logos, while Z71 receives a black
bowtie logo.
The ZR2 off-road performance variant
will receive a new appearance to match its
standout capability. ZR2 will be the only
Colorado model to feature the all-new,
lettered, flow-through “Chevrolet” front
fascia. ZR2’s new front end provides drivers
with improved visibility and looks even
more aggressive, which adds to its dynamic,
“segment of one” appearance.
ZR2, with its revolutionary, segment-
exclusive Multimatic DSSVTM position-
sensitive dampers, standard front and rear
electronic locking differentials, 2-inch
suspension lift, 3.5-inch wider track, off-
road rocker protection, cast iron control
arms, Autotrac transfer case, and multiple
skid plates, will now come equipped with
standard red tow hooks as well.
The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado is on sale
next year and all 2021 Colorado models
will be built at General Motors’ Wentzville
Assembly Center in Wentzville, Missouri.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4WD
Custom Crew
The all-new 2020 Silverado HD is the
strongest, most capable Silverado HD
ever, offering an increase of 52 percent in
towing capacity – along with class-leading
technologies and an expanded range of
customer choices.
Built at the Flint Assembly plant in Flint,
Michigan, the all-new 2020 Silverado HD is
longer, wider and taller than its predecessor,
with a wheelbase that’s been stretched 5.2
inches on Crew Cab models and is scaled
for HD customers. It is available in five trim
levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ and
High Country, offered across 22 cab, bed,
chassis and driveline configurations.
Customers can choose a new, standard
6.6L V-8 gas engine with direct injection,
rated at 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque.
That’s an 11-percent increase in horsepower
and a 22-percent increase in peak torque,
respectively, compared to the previous
gas engine, contributing to an 18-percent
increase in towing capability. It is matched
with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Then there’s the legendary Duramax
6.6L V-8 Turbo-Diesel, making 445 hp and
910 lb-ft of torque, coupled with an all-new
Allison® 10-speed automatic transmission.
In addition, every component on the
Silverado HD, between the transmission
and the wheels, has been upgraded to enable
an available 52-percent increase in max
towing capability — up up to 35,500 pounds
(requires 3500HD regular cab 2WD with
dual real wheels, available diesel engine and
gooseneck hitch).
New direct-injected 6.6L V-8 gas engine
delivers more torque
A new direct-injected 6.6L V-8 gas engine
elevates the 2020 Silverado HD’s overall
performance and capability. It is built with

a forged steel crankshaft, forged powder-
metal connecting rods and additional high-
strength components to help provide the
added strength and durability demanded by
HD customers.
Gasoline direct injection offers more
precise fuel control in the new engine,
which enables a higher compression ratio of
10.75:1, for greater power output of 401 hp.
It also supports strong performance at low
rpm, where it’s needed when pulling away
with a loaded cargo bed or trailer.
The 6.6L V-8 gas engine also features
a longer stroke than the previous 6.0L V-8
gas engine, to help it deliver more than
21-percent greater torque: 464 lb-ft. It is
offered with dual alternators to support the
electrical needs for trailering, snowplowing
and other jobs; and the new engine is
paired with the 6L90 six-speed automatic
transmission, which features the Tow/Haul
mode.
New Allison® 10-speed transmission
matched with proven Duramax 6.6L Turbo-
Diesel
Maximum power and towing capability
in new Silverado HD lineup comes from
the proven Duramax 6.6L V-8 Turbo-
Diesel with 910 lb-ft of torque. Its towing
capability is increased up to 52 percent
with driveline improvements including the
addition of the all-new Allison® 10-speed
automatic transmission — a legendary
Duramax/Allison® combination that
contributes to the Silverado HD’s 35,500-
pound2 max towing rating, when properly
equipped.
A diesel after-run feature specifically for
use following a demanding towing situation
is an additional new technology for the
Duramax engine. The after-run allows the
engine to keep running for up to 15 minutes
to allow it to cool down using the fan and
circulating coolant. If the driver puts the
truck in park when an after-run situation is
needed, an alert will appear on the driver
information cluster directing them to keep
the engine running for cool down. Should
the customer ignore the message and exit
the vehicle, the truck will restart on its own
via remote start mode for cool-down. At that
point the customer can walk away and the
truck will turn itself off when the engine
reaches an acceptable temperature.
The all-new Allison® 10-speed automatic
transmission combined with improved
driveline components is better at transferring
all of the Duramax’s torque to the pavement,
allowing more torque to be put to the ground
in lower gears, enhancing the overall driving
dynamics and trailering with smoother gear
changes and shorter steps between them. It
also supports smart engine braking, which
can help reduce brake wear. The Duramax/
Allison® combination’s standard axle ratio
is lowered to 3.42:1, which reduces engine
speed, therefore enhancing refinement.
For customers powering other equipment
with their trucks on the job site, an all-new,
factory-integrated engine-driven Power Take
Off (PTO) is available and eliminates the
need for an aftermarket unit. Exclusively
offered with the Allison® 10-speed
transmission on select diesel models, it’s the
first fully integrated PTO system of its kind

in the HD truck segment, with the PTO’s
drive gear operated via chain to direct engine
power. And because it is engine-driven rather
than turbine-driven, owners can use the PTO
while the vehicle is idling. A button inside
the cab enables the PTO, and a mode selector
allows adjustment of load and torque output.

Changes begin at the core, with a cylinder
block made from compacted graphite iron.
Overall, the new Cummins Turbo Diesel
weighs more than 60 lbs. (27 kg) less than
the previous-generation engine, yet delivers
more power and torque. A new cast-iron
cylinder head builds on the new block with
changes that include new exhaust valves and
springs, and new rocker arms.
Lighter and stronger pistons include
new low-friction rings and connect to
the crankshaft via newly design forged
connecting rods and new bearings. An
all-new exhaust manifold is the mounting
point for an improved variable-geometry
turbocharger with laminated heat shields,
delivering boost pressure up to 33 psi.
The second variant of the Cummins Turbo
Diesel also gets a performance boost with
370 horsepower @ 2,800 rpm and 850 lb.-ft.
of torque @ 1,700 rpm.
The standard engine in the 2019 Ram
2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty has been
upgraded to the proven and potent 6.4-liter
HEMI V-8, delivering class-leading 410

horsepower @ 5,600 rpm and 429 lb.-ft. of
torque @ 4,000 rpm to handle the payload
and towing requirements of the heavy-duty
truck user.
In addition, Ram 3500 Heavy Duty
models equipped with the 1,000 lb.-ft. high
output Cummins 6.7-liter Turbo Diesel
employ the Aisin AS69RC electronically
controlled six-speed automatic. This
transmission is engineered to handle the
colossal torque of the Turbo Diesel engine
and increased vehicle weight ratings
while delivering improved shift quality.
Along with hardware upgrades, the Aisin
AS69RC uses a new transmission controller
with double the memory of the previous
controller and a dual-core processor. This
delivers faster, more precise shifts under all
driving and loading conditions.
The Benchmark for Performance,

The 2019 Ram Heavy Duty is the most
powerful, most capable pickup in the
segment with a towing capacity of 35,100
lbs. (15,921 kg) and payload capacity of

strength steel, six separate crossmembers,
hydroformed main rails and fully boxed

the 2020 Jeep® Wrangler Willys. Featuring

designed sidewall construction, the Firestone

Time to Think About Those Summer Tires
As outdoor temperatures gradually begin
to rise, it’s time to think about those summer
tires again. The general rule of thumb is to
use summer tires from Easter to October
– and Easter weekend has already been
and gone. Tire manufacturer Continental
recommends applying the “Seven Degree
Rule”: When outdoor temperatures get
up to around 7°C, summer tires are back
in their element. That said, drivers do well
to remember that morning and evening
temperatures can still be well below that
level. But whatever guideline you apply,
the sooner you make an appointment
with your tire dealer or local garage, the
better your chances of getting a quick and
convenient wheel change. In view of the
safety measures being implemented on
account of coronavirus, there could well
be limits to how many customers can be
served at one time and the number of fitting
bays may be restricted. Leave it too late and
you will have to reckon with delays. And
don’t underestimate the numbers involved:
Some 80 percent of German drivers regularly
switch their tires to match the season. In
Germany at least, the switch to summer
tires is assured: Vergölst tire dealerships,
for example, are carrying out the necessary
wheel changes and their system-critical
breakdown and service activities for trucks
and vans are also operational.
Driving on winter tires in summer is not
to be recommended. “As temperatures rise,

so too do braking distances, lateral guidance
is no longer so precise and winter tires wear
faster,” warns tire development engineer
Andreas Schlenke from Continental in
Hanover.
Drivers who have their tires changed
by a garage or their tire dealer can drive
away with peace of mind, knowing that the
experts have checked the tires, fitted them
correctly and, if necessary, already ordered
replacements. If you’re not sure about the
condition of the summer tires you ran last
year, the best thing to do is ask a tire dealer
like Vergölst or turn to a local garage for
advice. And in case of doubt, get an expert
opinion on the state of the tread strip and
blocks, because like the sidewalls, these
should show no signs of damage. Drivers
should not attempt to change their own
wheels without the right tools for the job:
A torque wrench with a display is essential
to check the tightening torque; the correct
values can be found in the driver’s manual.
Then, with the tires inflated to the right
pressure, your car is ready for its first spring

The C-HR packs a lot of attitude in a
compact package that measures 172.6 in.
long on a 103.9- in. wheelbase – making
the C-HR a tight, agile form that’s a joy to
wheel through congested urban areas.
Never one to blend in, the C-HR updates
its extroverted style for 2020 with a
redesigned front fascia, headlamps, bumper,
grille and spoiler. The LE grade joins its
siblings with standard LED headlamps and
also debuts a new optional 17-inch alloy
wheel design. The Limited grade gets a new
18-inch alloy wheel design.
Added features enhance value for 2020.
All C-HR models already came equipped
with Apple CarPlay compatibility and
now, for 2020, standard Android Auto
compatibility completes the smartphone
compatible suite. In addition, the LE grade
picks up SiriusXM® All Access 3-Month
Trial Satellite Radio, which was already
standard on XLE and Limited.
The XLE grade adds new seatback
pockets and windshield visor extensions,
the kind of detail upgrades that owners
appreciate in everyday usage. The top-of-
line Limited, which already includes leather-
trimmed seating, heated front seats and
ambient lighting, reaches further into luxury
territory with a new 8-way power driver’s
seat and Adaptive Front Lighting System
(AFS) with headlamp auto-leveling. AFS
partially aims the headlight beams into turns
as the driver steers, helping to provide an
extra margin of night driving safety.

LED headlights wrap deeply into the sides
of the hood, running rearward along the
fender tops. Deep, curvy character lines
emerge from a prominent Toyota badge on

side windows and above the rear wheel,
where they join a high beltline and
distinctive C-pillar with hidden-type design
door handles.
The sport coupe persona is especially
evident in the fastback-style roof, highly
sculpted “wide body” rear quarter panels,
and a lip spoiler on the hatchback. At the
roof’s edge, a color-matched cantilevered
wing tapers neatly inboard.
Canards on the rear quarter panels, front
and rear spats, a streamlined rear lower
bumper, and stabilizing fins integrated into
the taillights all manage critical airflow in
and around the body. Beneath the body, a
bevy of rigid covers – on the engine, floor,
fuel tank, and aft of the rear wheels – cull

turbulence and, in doing so, help enhance
vehicle control and fuel efficiency.
2020 Mazda CX-9 Signature

transmission. Mazda’s predictive i-Activ all-
wheel drive is standard in CX-9 Signature
and available on all other trim levels.
When paired with i-Activ all-wheel drive,
the 2020 CX-9 is the first Mazda vehicle
offered with the all-new off-road traction
assist feature. Replacing the traction control
button, this feature can potentially help the
driver when adventuring on uneven terrain.
When the diagonal wheels lose traction, off-
road traction assist will stop reducing the
engine torque and increases the brake force
on the wheels without traction. This transfers
power to the wheels still on the ground to
help allow the vehicle to regain traction and
continue the drive. G-Vectoring Control
Plus is also standard for 2020 and further
improves the steering response to help the
driver and all occupants have a smooth,

2020 Hyundai Kona Ultimate
Kona powertrain offerings have top
efficiency levels as a primary target. Kona
is offered with a choice of two gasoline
powertrains. A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Atkinson
engine produces 147 horsepower at 6200

rpm, paired with a six-speed automatic
transmission. The Atkinson cycle design
maximizes the effective cylinder expansion

automatic offers SHIFTRONIC™ manual-
shifting mode and includes an overdrive
lock-up torque converter for higher fuel
economy at highway speeds.
Limited and Ultimate trims offer
the Gamma 1.6-liter 4-cylinder direct-
injected, turbocharged engine generating
175 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 195
lb.-ft. of torque from 1500-4500 rpm, an
advantage over its key competitors. Peak
torque delivery starts at only 1,500 rpm
and holds through 4,500 rpm, for low-RPM
responsiveness and performance in everyday
driving conditions. The turbocharger
features low-inertia turbo-spooling response
characteristics and an electronic wastegate
control for more precise control of manifold
pressure. Internally, piston-cooling oil
jets ensure cooler piston temperatures for
enhanced engine life. The Gamma engine
also features a water jacket insert that
prioritizes cooling in the upper level of the
cylinder block where more combustion heat
is generated, resulting in lower cylinder-head
temperatures and allowing for leaner air/fuel
mixtures for better fuel efficiency.
The turbo engine is coupled to a seven-
speed EcoShift® dual-clutch transmission
(DCT). This Hyundai-developed dual-
clutch transmission offers outstanding
efficiency with quick, seamless shifting and
brisk acceleration. When compared with
some competitors’ continuously-variable
transmissions, this DCT is able to handle
more torque with minimal power interruption
throughout the engine operating range for
natural acceleration and premium aural
character with greater durability.
Kona was developed with a focus on
enhanced driving dynamics and responsive
performance for a variety of urban and
multi-surface driving conditions. The
long wheelbase, short overhangs and wide
track create a planted stance that results in
exceptional agility in urban environments
with enhanced linear stability and ride
comfort. The front suspension features a
MacPherson strut system using an innovative
sub-frame bushing design for enhanced
comfort and reduced noise, vibration and
harshness (NVH). The MacPherson strut
design uses gas-filled shock absorbers and
a hollow stabilizer bar for lower weight and
enhanced responsiveness. Available 18-inch
alloy wheels with 235/45R18 tires give
surefooted, agile handling character on a
variety of road surfaces.
Differentiated rear suspension design
has been developed for 2WD and AWD
models. 2WD models have a rigid torsion
beam design for overall stability and control.
The AWD drive model uses an independent,
dual-arm multi-link design, optimizing ride
comfort and stability in the wider ranges
of off-road suspension articulation. Its
geometry was specially designed for refined
body movement on rough roads and off-road
terrain. Rear suspension control arm design
also minimizes camber and toe changes
throughout the wider suspension travel range.

Kona also offers Drive Mode Select,
which allows the driver to customize dynamic
responses, such as steering feel, transmission
and overall powertrain responsiveness to their
preferences, and to changing road or traffic
conditions. Two differentiated driving modes
(Normal and Sport) optimize the torque
distribution and shift mapping, tailoring
Kona to a variety of driving preferences.
In Sport mode, there is a greater emphasis
on acceleration with earlier downshifts
on braking, while Normal mode slightly
prioritizes fuel economy over performance
with a more conservative, lower-rpm shift
schedule.
2021 Kia Seltos SX Turbo

The interior arrangement of the 2020
BMW X6 has been refocused on the driver
while at the same time offering impeccable
quality and finish from all surfaces to
transport the driver and passengers in glove-
like comfort.
Vernasca Leather, Sport seats and a
Sensatec covered dashboard are standard
on all X6 models. Multi-function seats are
standard on the X6 M50i and optional on the
40i models. Extended Merino Leather, BMW

The X6 M50i is powered by a new and
immensely potent version of BMW’s 4.4-
liter eight-cylinder TwinPower turbocharged

and Double-VANOS variable camshaft
timing. This combination delivers 523 hp

A new aluminum alloy has been used to

the stress on the crank drive that comes with
the extra output and torque. To enhance
engine smoothness, torsional vibration is
minimized with the help of a viscous damper
on the crankshaft.

The X6 M50i comes standard with an
M Sport exhaust system allowing for the
tuned, selectable exhaust note to be adjusted
by the driver with the press of a button. The
M Sport exhaust is also available on the
6-cylinder X6 models when the M Sport
Package is selected.
The BMW X6 M50i accelerates from a
standstill to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, 0.5
seconds quicker than the outgoing X6 model.
Top speeds are electronically limited to 130

The latest M TwinPower Turbo engine
technology.
The new BMW M S58 six-cylinder
in-line engine found under the hood of
the first-ever X3 M and X4 M features a
forged crankshaft allowing it to handle
extremely high levels of torque. The forged
crankshaft’s low weight and reduced rotating
mass also allow the engine to rev to a 7,200
rpm redline. The closed-deck design of the
six-cylinder engine’s block ensures it is
incredibly rigid, paving the way for higher
combustion pressure and increased power.
The wire-arc sprayed-on iron coating for
the cylinder walls reduces both engine
weight and frictional losses. In addition, the
cylinder head has a core manufactured using
3D printing. This additive manufacturing
process enables geometric forms to be
created that are beyond the capability of
conventional metal casting techniques. 3D
printing technology has cut the weight of the
new engine’s cylinder head core and allows
its coolant ducts to be routed in a way that
optimizes temperature management.
This latest incarnation of M TwinPower
Turbo technology features two mono-scroll
turbochargers, which supply compressed air
to cylinders 1 – 3 and 4 – 6 respectively. The
engine’s power output is enhanced through
the use of upgraded turbo compressor wheels
and a water-to-air intercooler. A flow-
optimized air intake system reduces pressure
losses, while an electronically controlled
wastegate enhances turbo response.
High Precision Injection technology
raises maximum fuel injection pressure
from 200 bar to 350 bar, enabling extremely
efficient mixing of fuel and air. The fine
atomization of the fuel in the combustion
chambers reduces emissions, especially
under full acceleration loads and at high
speeds. The engine technology is rounded
off by VALVETRONIC fully variable
valve timing and Double-VANOS variable
camshaft timing.
The six-cylinder in-line engine in the
first-ever X3 M and X4 M produces its peak
torque of 442 lb.-ft. between 2,600 and 5,600
rpm and between 2,600 and 5,950 rpm in the
BMW X3 M Competition and BMW X4 M
Competition models. Maximum horsepower
output is generated between 5,600 and 7,300
rpm in the X3 M and X4 M and between
5,950 and 7,300 rpm in the Competition
models. The BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M
accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds,
while the Competition models hit the 60
mph mark in 4.0 seconds. The top speed of

boasts a generous 191 horsepower at 6,100
rpm and 181 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm,
plus an expected combined EPA estimated
fuel economy of 33 mpg. Meanwhile, the
new Smartstream G1.6 T-GDI has 180
horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 195 lb.-ft. of

#TBT: Shared architecture, but different
designs - a Volkswagen vehicle for
everyone
Through the decades, Volkswagen has
thoughtfully built its vehicles on platforms
that are engineered to satisfy a wide variety
of use cases. While there’s a financial
benefit, the consumer gains, too—sharing

the same architecture across multiple
designs brings the benefits of increased
engineering budgets to each variation but
helps keep prices low. Consider the award-
winning MQB chassis—some $60 billion
was spent in development, but nearly every
new Volkswagen sits on it now, with some
starting at less than $20,000 MSRP.
1950 – 1979* Volkswagen Bus
The idea of economies of scale is nothing
new for Volkswagen. The Bus (officially
known as T1 or T2), launched in 1949, was
available as a work van, a passenger van, a
pick-up truck, a flatbed truck, and a camper
van, as well as any number of specialty
uses including police and fire department
vehicles. The broad range of applications
allowed Volkswagen to spread engineering
costs over millions of vehicles, keeping
purchase prices down for buyers for over
30 years—and more. While the last bus
sold in the U.S. was a 1979 model, the bus
continued to be built in Brazil until the 2014
model year.
1965 – 1974 Volkswagen Type 3
Volkswagen’s Type 3, known first as
simply the VW 1500, made its debut at the
Frankfurt Auto Show in 1961, in coupe and
swooping Karmann Ghia coupe form. Just
a year later, a two-door wagon version (the
1500 Variant) was launched, using the same
rear-engined chassis and flat-four engine
configuration. In 1966, the Type 3 was
imported to the U.S., and the Volkswagen
1600 TL joined the lineup in 1966, giving a
“fastback” version of the same platform to
those who were looking for a practical, yet
sporting, vehicle.
1971 – 1975 Volkswagen Type 4
In 1968, Volkswagen launched the Type
4—called the VW 411, it was initially
offered in both wagon and notchback
formats, as well as in two- and four-
door models. The new platform offered
independent suspension and could be
outfitted with an automatic transmission.
The Type 4 wouldn’t be offered in the U.S.
until 1971, and in 1972, the Type 4 was
updated and named the VW 412. A cabriolet
concept further cemented the versatility of
the platform, but wasn’t actually produced.
1974 – Present Volkswagen Passat
First released in Europe in 1973, and
brought to the U.S. first under the name
Dasher and later Quantum, the Volkswagen
Passat was available in sedan and wagon
formats, in two- and four-door versions.
Significantly, it was built on a modular kit
system that was shared with the Audi 80,
similar in idea to the shared architectures
used in production today. This allowed the
democratization of high-end engineering
across the model range. In 2008, the
Volkswagen CC was born of Passat roots,
featuring a sweeping four-door coupe
aesthetic. In 2017, the Arteon carried on
the concept in Europe—being built on the

Passat—and was brought to the U.S. in 2019.

1974 – Present Volkswagen Golf

The most dynamic model in all of
Volkswagen history is without question,
the Golf. Through the decades, it has been
available in three-, four-, and five-door
variants, cabriolet format, and as a lifted
off-road vehicle in the form of the Country
Syncro. When first offered in the U.S. in
1975, it was called the Rabbit. Both the
sporting Volkswagen Scirocco and swooping
Corrado are Golf variants, as was a Golf-
based pick-up truck as far back as 1980, and
European markets even saw a minivan in
the Touran in 2003. What’s more, the Golf
has been available with gasoline-power,
diesel engines, and electric motors. The Mk 7
Golf family included six variants in the U.S.
Volkswagen lineup, from the all-wheel drive
Golf Alltrack wagon to the high-performance
Golf R hatchback.

1980 – Present Volkswagen Jetta

First built in 1979 in notchback coupe
form, the Jetta was largely based on the Golf,
sparking a fraternal relationship that would
continue through the present day. As the
Jetta grew up, it dropped its two-door trim,
and was offered in sedan and wagon trims,
with gasoline, diesel, and hybrid drivetrains.
Today, the Jetta shares its MQB platform
with the Golf, and when it was offered in
wagon form (2009 – 2014), the Jetta was a
Golf; just with a different nametag.
2017 – Present Volkswagen Atlas
Built for the U.S. market and launched
for the 2018 model year, the Atlas was
born as a seven-passenger SUV to fill the
needs of growing families. It has already
seen its first variation in the form of the
Atlas Cross Sport, a dynamically-styled
five-passenger SUV with a lower roofline
and a dramatically angled rear hatch that
still offers the all-weather functionality and
much of the cargo carrying capacity of its
bigger brother—not to mention its low price
of entry.
