Adult Fertility and Sexuality Study PANLIPUNAN
of 2013 (YAFS-4), a survey of
Filipino college and high school
graduates, 43.5 percent respectively
admitted to having engaged in
premarital sex.

In addition 79.6 percent did not use


any protection at first premarital sex.
These scenarios are most often the
causes of infections.
Some infections that are vital
nowadays are HIV and AIDS .

Now let’s divide the class into three


groups. We will be having an
activity.

colors, inside of it are questions.
Only your leader will come forward
to pick a card. I’ll give you time to
collaborate and brainstorm about that
question you have picked. Only one

What is HIV?

Human Immunodeficiency Virus

Human- This virus can only infect


human beings.

Immunodeficiency- The effect of the


virus is to create a deficiency (a failure
to work properly) within the body’s
immune system. .

Virus- This organism is a retro virus,


which means it can reproduce itself by
taking over the machinery of the human
cell.

Acquired Immune Deficiency


Syndrome

Acquired- The infection may be


transmitted from one person to
another.

Immune- The immune system is


compromised.

Deficiency- The body can no longer INDICATOR


fight off infections; individual may #1

Syndrome- A person experiences a


collection of symptoms which could
be fatal.

us to determine our status. But it is

tested, be an advocate and be
protected.
