SUMMER HOLIDAY HOMEWORK (2020-21)
We wish you a joyful and prudent juncture during these
pandemic days. It is the time to relax, spend time with family and
do something creative. This is a time to create a balance between
work and play. Parents may enhance their kids interest and
knowledge as well as students have to be careful about their
health.
Holiday homework is designed on the basis of playway method
i.e. they will learn by doing things.
Kindly ensure that your child completes the entire holiday
homework timely and under adult’s supervision.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Revise the work done in all the subjects.
2.Do one page handwriting daily (in English
and Hindi writing book)
3.Do your work very neatly in your own
handwriting. Take help of your parents
when required.
4. Do all your work in an old copy , click
photo and post it on E-magazine.
5. Do the activities using waste material.
No need to buy things from the market.
6. Converse with your ward in English.
Make sure that he/she learns 3 sentences
daily.

Life Skills
During holidays be an expert in any 7 essential life skills.

Why do we need life skills?


Skill based learning helps in enhancing strengths, building confidence, make
decisions, find new ways of thinking and problem solving to achieve their
goals.
1. Cooking: Cooking activities are a great way to express your creativity. So learn
to cook any special dish with your Mother.

2. Gardening : Research has shown that spending time outside is good for our
body and mind. So make a small garden (floral/vegetable), take good care of
it, plant a seedling and observe its growth.

3. Laundry: During this break, learn to wash your own clothes and other articles,
also take care of the cleanliness of your room (dusting, bath rooms and
surroundings) .

4. Public Speaking: Communication is the backbone of our society. Public


speaking is one of the most important form of communication. It helps in
every area of life. So be an
expert in speaking on small topics like-

 What I like best about my school
 My Family
 My wonderful dream
 My favourite toy

5. Dealing with money: Amount of money that children control influence their
learning. So learn to use and save your pocket money.

6. Self defense: It is an act of protecting yourself against something bad. Learn


the basics of self defense for difficult situations. It helps children to build
confidence.

7. Skipping rope : This will help you lose weight, engage every muscle in
your body , stimulate your Brain activity and eliminate stress. So learn
this art of skipping rope.

8. Self awareness: If you have self awareness you can evaluate yourself, manage
your emotions and understand others correctly. So develop this skill.

9. Critical thinking: It is the ability to think clearly, applying, analyzing and


evaluating information gathered. It enhances language and presentation
skills. To enhance critical thinking, don’t simply accept all arguments and
conclusions you are exposed to, start asking questions; have an attitude
involving questioning such arguments and conclusions.

10. Reading: Reading gives wings to your imagination. Any reading activity
other than your textbooks will definitely enhance your creativity and writing
skills.
Few Health /General Tips to make the
holidays special

DO’S
1. Wake up early and go to bed early.

2. Take a bath in the morning.

3. Eat a variety of foods (proper 3 meals a day). Include a lot


of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drink plenty of fluids
(homemade, avoid packed juices).

4. Wear light clothes.

5. Do meditation, yoga and exercise daily.

6. Eat healthy food made of suji , oats and wheat. (avoid maida)

7. Reduce salt and sugar intake.

8. Use face mask whenever you go out,use your elbow to cover your mouth,
when you sneeze or cough.

9. Help your mother in housekeeping (Gardening, folding bed-sheets and


personal clothes, setting study table, keeping your toys at proper place,
washing your own plates, filling water bottles, and dusting).

10. Study for 1 hour daily.

11. Switch off fans and lights if not in use.

12. Clean washroom after use (Learn to clean your own dirt).

13. Keep one vessel (mud pot) with water for birds. You can also feed them bajra
if you can.

14. Play and explore new indoor games.

15. Learn to button and unbutton your shirt (for very small students). Also learn
to tie your shoe laces

16. Learn and use 3 magical words “Thank You”, “Sorry” and “Please” frequently.

17. Spend some quality time with an elderly person in family or neighbourhood.

Don’ts
1. Don’t go out (unnecessarily) in this lockdown period.

2. Don’t share your towel/handkerchief/brush with other people.

3. Don’t eat junk food.

4. Don’t watch too much TV and mobile phone.

5. Don’t make dirty your place of living.

6. Don’t waste your time by being lazy.

7. Don’t spend time with negative people.

8. Don’t worry or take stress.

9. Don’t sit for more than 2 to 3 hours at a time, take a walk in between.

10. Avoid heavy meals during summer months.

Holiday Homework
1.Find out and enlist which games your parents and
grandparents used to play in their childhood. Design your
own game and write its rules.(click your photos while
designing your game and paste it)
2.Write a paragraph (80-100words) describing your own
saddest and happiest experience during the lockdown.
You can also display your experiences with the help of
pictures
3a.Draw/Paste pictures of at least 8-10 ‘Good Hygiene Habits ‘
that you should follow in today’s scenario. Also write 2
sentences each for the same.
b. What challenges will you face when the school reopens?
Talk/Discuss with your parents regarding the same and write
down the precautions that you can take to keep yourself safe. (at
least 8-10 points)
4.Read first five lessons given in English
Supplementary book. Write at least 10
difficult words of each lesson , write
their meaning and frame sentences.
Look at the picture given. Many words are spelt
wrong. Rewrite these words with their correct
spellings. Describe this picture in 10 -12 lines.
