Gurion ABSENT: None CITY RESOLUTION NO. 16-159 “WHEREAS, Section 34 of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, mandates Local Government Units (LGUs) to promote the establishment and operation of people's and non-governmental ‘organizations to become active partners in the pursuit of local autonomy; WHEREAS, in consonance to the aforestated provisions of the Code, Department of the Interior and Local Govemment Memorandum Circular No. 2016-97 was circulated rendering a directive to strengthen the Civil Society Organizations’ participation in local governance and development processes; WHEREAS, the accreditation of all the civil society organizations will serve the primordial aim of people empowerment and encourage participation of the people's organizations, non-govemmental organizations and other organized {groups in the affairs of local government particularly in local special bodies. NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Ferdinand C. Verzosa duly ‘seconded by Councilor Ernesto V. Rafon, THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD IN SESSION DULY ASSEMBLED: RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to call for the accreditation of all Civil Society Organizations in the City of San Fernando,City Res. 16-159, series of 2016, page two of 2 pages RESOLVED FINALLY, that a copy of this Resolution be furnished all the officers of the aforementioned organizations for their information and guidance.
