One month agreement!

The hell how I regretted saying those words carelessly. I don't know what comes on my mind spitting
those nonsense without blinking an eye in front of him.

Everyday as I went to school, I tried myself to avoid meeting him but unluckily not for today.

Heading towards my locker, I saw two familiar figures coming to my direction. I saw my bestfriend Maria
who wears her uniform neatly and Chris Paul in her side in his dazzling looks.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Maria greeted with wide grin.

"Getting my things and suppose to attend our second subject?" It is like a question rather than a
statement. "By the way Maria, I didn't know until now that you are close with this guy!" I added flatly
while pointing out to the guy who stands next to her. I didn't know until now that they already had
formed a little bond with each other.

"Lately Althea, yes! He somehow comforted my broken heart."

"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to comprehend what she said.

"We broke up!" after what I heard, I grab her wrist instantly without any warning. I pull her directing to
some quiet place so that I can interrogate her by myself. I can consult her without Paul listening to a
boring 'girls talk'.

"Careful Althea...." she warned me suddenly in a concerned voice. But everything is too late when I slip
accidentally into the peels of mangoes scattered at the hallway. Everything happens so sudden that my
feet slide to the front and my butt landed on the floor painfully. Unbearable, unexplainable, and
tormenting feelings on my back occur.

I was about to stand up when I saw unpleasant blood running through my legs.

"Oh my god Althea..., don't.... don't move" Maria said in a panicked voice. Witnessing the red blood
flowing on the floor makes my skin whiter. At any moment, I think I can't hold myself anymore. Few
seconds before I past in front of Maria, I heard his voice calling my name from the back.

"Althea!" he said with concern.

"She is so lucky! You take care your friend and remind her to do double careful for there safety." I
heared a male voice. I don't know where I am, my mind dictating myself to open my eyes but it seems
that it didn't cooperate.

"Absolutely yes! Thanks Doc!" upon hearing her response, I slowly open my eyes to see Maria talking to
a tall, white skinny, wearing a white lab gown with his eyeglasses that seems to be the doctor.

I slowly move my body to sit down. Upon hearing my slow movements, both of them turns to my
direction.

"Hi!" Maria greeted me with a smile. In a meanwhile while observing her facial expression, I think I saw a
hesitation hidden on her blue eyes despite of the smile plastered on her face.

"What's the problem here?" I asked immediately with a curious look.

"Basically as of now, we don't have any problem miss. You and your baby are safe. What do you need is
a complete rest. Tommorr....."

"Wait, wait, wait!" I interrupted him. "What do you mean a baby? Do you mean I am carrying a child on
my belly? That I am a pregnant right now?" questions abruptly left my mouth. Unbelievable situation is
hard to comprehend and to accept.

"Absolutely, yes!" the doctor said without any hesitation "And... congratulations!" he continued.

" May I excuse myself for a moment ladies, I still have an appointment and I don't want to let my
patients to wait longer than usual." he excused his self. Maybe he wants us to give some privacy alone
to talk then he left after extending my appreciation.

"Althea, are you okay?" Maria asked and broke the silence inside the room.

"No, I mean.... yes. No need to worry. Can you please leave me alone for a moment?"

"But..."

" No more buts Maria. Please. I want to be alone." I said with determination not wanting her to disagree
my plead.

"Okay , okay! I will just buy some foods near, for you!"

" Thanks!" I answered her. "By the way, please don't spit it out to anyone even to Rose. Give me enough
time to gather courage before telling them about this."
"You can count on me Althea!" she said carefully not wanting to say any words that makes me
discomfort. "But..." Maria suddenly stop in her mid sentence.

"But what Maria? Speak it out"

"He's waiting outside and.... and... he already know."

"You mean Paul?" then she nods indicating that my hint is correct.

"No problem, I will handle him by myself. You may leave now. By the way, tell him to leave the hospital
also! I don't want any visitors."

I turn my head to the opposite side leaving the sight of Maria who holds the knob of the door at the
moment. Then I heared the door closed slowly. I thought I can think thoroughly about the problem I'm
facing now not until I heared a footsteps.

"Do you forgot something Maria?" I asked without turning my back.

"Althea, we need to talk." Upon hearing his voice, I close my eyes intently and tried my best to control
myself from the anger that starts to form.

"I thought I instruct her clearly that I don't want to talk to anyone and badly want to be alone! I didn't
know that some person can't understand simple instruction." I don't care if my words somehow hurt his
ego. What I needed right now is a complete silence enable to find a solution for this big mess. A big mess
that basically he created.

Still not turning my back, I heard his footsteps closer to the bed.

"Whether you like it or not Althea, you know that we need to talk right now." he said facing to me as
soon as he went to the other side of the bed.

"And you definitely know that all of this is because of you!"

"I know! I know! I'm sorry!" he said while bringing his hands to his face desperately expressing his
depression.

"God dammit Paul! How can you say that words easily! Do you think you can turn the things back to the
normal?" I shouted him angrily. Tears start to form on my eyes.

"That's why we need to talk right now and solve this problem Althea. Don't let your emotions bring you
down. For God's sake, I know I can't turn the things back to normal but let us find solution how to
handle this." he said apologetically. He slightly bend and wipe the tears flowing slowly in my chicks. Then
he hug me unexpectedly. His hands strike up and down at my back trying to comfort myself. Even
though I don't want to accept the truth, but somehow his hands felts good and lessened my burden.
Silence past for a few seconds and no one dare to utter even a single word.

"Let abort the child Althea." he said out of nowhere. As I heard the words I never expected left from his
mouth, I push him hard enough to escape myself from him. Then I let my little right hand land on his
face leaving the mark of my fingers.

"Bullshit! What did you say?" I asked carefully.

"Let's abort th..." I didn't let him finish his statement when I let my hand land again to his face harder
than the first!

"Get out. Get out! I SAID GET OUT!" I shouted hysterically.

"Definitely no Althea, I will not leave this room until we settle this." he said in a calm but in determined
voice. Pure anger and hatred form inside of me but I don't have the bravery to burst it out to him as of
the moment. How he can said that easily without thinking thoroughly of the little heart beating
soundlessly inside of my stomach? No I would definitely fight for the baby no matter what happens and
consequences in the future.

"Please..... leave this room immediately right now. I will pretend that I didn't hear anything thing from
you."

"Althea, no. You didn't get my my point....."

"Don't interrupt me Paul. I'm not yet done talking." I said calmly then for a moment I pause and
continue while closing my eyes. "Let's pretend that we didn't have this conversation right now. That I
didn't hear you saying those words for this little angel." then I caress my small belly lovingly. "And you
pretend as you don't know that you have definitely a child... with me. I promise you, I will not let you
take any responsibilities for this unborn child but yet you want to abort it. I promise you in the future,
everytime we meet ,either at school or outside of campus or anywhere, I will pretend that I don't know
you at all. That you are a complete stranger. And you also have to forget about us. I assure you that I will
not hold any grudges towards you and you can fully enjoy your life. I will forget that you fou fool me
basically at the very beginning we first met. I will also forget that you didn't confess to me what
happened during your damn lie party at the condo. I will forget all your wtong doings on me. But
please....., I won't allow you to abort this child no matter what!"
