Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope that this communique reaches you and your family in good health.

Please permit me the opportunity to thank you all for your kind patience and understanding in
anticipation of my update regarding our Hillview College e-Learning platform.

I am therefore pleased to inform you that I recently received information from our Hillview College
Google Classroom Administrator advising that our platform can now be made available to our students
for registration.

The following from our Administrator, provides you with details on accessing this e-Learning
environment:

Dear Parents/Students,

We trust that you are safe during these uncertain times as we all hope to return to a state of
normalcy soon.

HVC has implemented an e-Learning environment during the past 4 weeks and we are ready
to begin having the students utilize this resource.

The environment utilizes Google for Education classrooms for which the school has a
subscription. To this end, the teachers have all been given access information and the
classrooms have been created to facilitate the e-learning platform.

In order to access this environment however, there is a process which the students must
follow. Please read the following instructions carefully so that you can be up and running in
the quickest possible time.

Parents please note, the STUDENTS should have their own accounts as notifications for
assignments and meeting times will be sent to that account.

STEPS:

1. To access the platform the STUDENT MUST register for a hillviewcollege.edu.tt account. To
do this please proceed to the following link and fill out the form:
https://forms.gle/sJQuErxuZnA966Fo7

2. Within 24 hrs, your credentials will be emailed to you via the email address you signed up
with along with the instructions on the use of the system.

Additionally, Parents/Guardians, I wish to advise that:

1. Teachers may choose to utilize alternative electronic platforms or any combination thereof to
interact with their students.

2. Teachers’ participation in any online learning platform is voluntary.

3. The Term III (2019/2020) “Scheme of Work” regarding Forms 1 to 4 will be:
a. Made available soon to parents and students via the school’s website:
http://hillviewcollege.edu.tt/
b. Taught in its entirety when classes resume at Hillview College.

4. We will all continue to be guided by:

a. The GORTT/MOE, regarding the status of Term III (2019/2020).
b. CXC, regarding the status of CSEC and CAPE, inclusive of SBAs.
c. TTUTA, regarding protocols for teachers’ participation in online learning platforms.

5. Guidelines pertaining to “Online Etiquette” will be included with your registration details for our
Google for Education platform. Parents are therefore required to please take note of these
important guidelines and ensure full compliance at home.

In closing, I wish to reassure all Parents/Guardians and Students that the Administration and Staff
remain resolute and committed towards “Total Quality Education” for each and every one of our
students, especially so during these unprecedented times.
