Primary Name-Geppetto Creations / Secondary - Geppetto Trade Shows Slogan or Tagline - Where Exhibits Come To Life Logo Concept
Logo Concept
The name Geppetto is meant to carry within itself certain concepts such as:
Creating something out of nothing, ingenuity, playfulness, delicate.
I would like the logo to embody this in a subtle way. Maybe via the use of images of tools, cogs, or
wood.
There is also a sustainable aspect to the concept/name. Geppetto the character uses recycled pieces of
scrap and materials to create Pinocchio. This could be represented by a wooden looking G or something
that visually reminds us of the green aspect of the company, name and business proposal.
Other concepts that I want the brand to embody based on the connotation that the name brings due to
its Disney character
- Mister Geppetto, is a fictional character in the novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo
Collodi. Geppetto is an elderly, impoverished woodcarver and the creator of Pinocchio.
Most of his creations were meant for the entertainment of both himself and others, Geppetto was a
humble and modest man.
I believe the brand should also transmit an emotion, bring a relatability to small beginnings of a project,
“making dreams come true”.
- Relatability/Target Audience
Generations have been influenced by the “magic” of Disney. Younger generations identify with the
magic of ”Disney” fairytales, and the concept that “anything is possible”
In this case, relatability is cross generational. While the younger/millennial generation is enchanted by
the “magic of Disney” so was the generation before us, Baby boomers, and Gen X. Geppetto first
appearance in in the adventures of Pinocchio happened in the 1940s. Meaning that it is a character that
most people can connect with.
Five years ago I moved to the U.S. to work for Derse, one of the top 5 exhibit houses in the U.S. During
my tenure at Derse, I operated as an international project manager, facilitating U.S. companies’
exhibits in worldwide trade shows. My portfolio included: 3D booth design and concept creation,
budgeting and pricing materials based on trends of specific countries, hiring and managing local crews
during pre-build as well as onsite supervision, shipping and logistics of all trade show components,
handling graphic tendencies and production, AV and technological capabilities and experiential
marketing for brand activation. In short, a comprehensive package of turnkey services.
My time working for large corporations led me to identify a few essential components that this industry
lacks - this is where my desire to start my own agency started.
While the business world has risen to meet expectations of a generation which demands better results
and higher quality through intuitive, accelerated and more cost-effective processes, the trade show
industry continues to maintain antiquated, time consuming procedures and practices. My work
experience and perspective will allow me to translate this into the trade shows and exhibits world.
