PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE MANAGEMENT

Synopsis : The “Product Life Cycle Management” describes the tasks

that must be completed to produce a product or service and how to manage a
product.

The various stages in the product life cycle management are product
origination, product initiation, product planning, product execution & control and
product close out.

Product origination is to evaluate the product that is proposed for the next
planning cycle and to reach a consensus on the products to be selected. A
determination is made as to whether the product is consistent with agency’s
strategic plan and affordable within budgets and guidelines. The product proposal
may actually part of the budget cycle. Other factors that impact product origination
are statutory requirements, regulations, legislative restrictions, and civil service
rules.
