More than three months after a mystery virus emerged in China's Wuhan, the world has come to

Li Wenliang was a Chinese ophthalmologist who worked at Wuhan Central Hospital. Li warned
his colleagues on 30 December 2019 about a possible outbreak of an illness that resembled
severe acute respiratory syndrome, later identified as COVID-19. He became a whistle-blower
when his warnings were later shared publicly.
