UNIT-I

UNIT-II

conducting Sumpner’s test on transformers.

4. A 1-Φ, 2400/240 V, 120 KVA two-winding transformer is connected as an Auto
transformer with additive and subtractive polarity. Determine the KVA rating of the Auto
Transformer in both the cases?
5. Obtain the approximate equivalent circuit of a 200 / 2000 V single-phase 30kVA
transformer referred to 200 V side using the following test results:
OC Test: 200 V 6.2 A 360 W on l.v. side
SC Test: 75 V 18 A 600 W on h.v. side

5. A 3-phase induction motor is wound for 4 poles and is supplied from 50 HZ system.
calculate: i) The synchronous speed. ii) The rotor speed with slip is 4% and iii) Rotor
frequency when rotor runs at 600 RPM.

UNIT-IV

1. Derive an expression for full load torque in 3-Φ induction motor and obtain the relation
between full load torque and maximum torque.
