FOOD WASTE AS ALTERNATIVE OF NATURAL FERTILIZER FOR OKRA PLANTS (ABELMOSCHUS ESCULENTUS L
ABSTRACT
Many food wastes are not well disposed are able to affect the environment, cause pollution, increase the world's temperature,
mitigation climate change and damage the weather tables like rain and storms around the world. In small scope, there are many
leftovers like vegetables, fruits and meat there is left for too long and not well dispose will produce unpleasant odor to the locals and
causes many wild dogs to roam around residential colleges because they are attracted to the smell at the dumping area. Food waste as
fertilizer can affect the growth of the tree because it contains the composition required by the plants. Many methods that are found to
make fertilizer using food waste. In order to increase the effectiveness of the fertilizer, vegetables and fruits waste can be used.

INTRODUCTION RESULT ANALYSIS

Wastes, generally, have high levels of organic matter and From the result that has been recorded, plants sample at dilution 20% showed most significant increase in diameter of stem
which is 0.775cm and the highest diameter of stem recorded is dilution 20% sample 5 (D20S05) which is 0.86cm. For height of
nutrients, and its agricultural use can contribute to close ecologic plant, sample at dilution 15% showed significant increase in average height of plant compared to other dilutions, especially on
week 10 which is 61.8cm followed by dilution 20% which is 48.7cm. The tallest height plant recorded is dilution 20% sample

products in crops fertilization and the ever-growing land While for the nutrient content in plant growth, the sample of liquid fertilizer is taken to the lab every once a week for 10
weeks period but due to the Covid-19 pandemic that occurred, only 4 week of results were to be recorded because of the
degradation, as a result of intensive use and unsuitable crop Movement Control Order (MCO) that took place from 18th March 2020. Nutrient content that is measured from the liquid
fertilizer is nitrogen, phosphate and nitrate. The values of nitrogen ammonia, NH3-N are increase in all week except for week

The highest reading of NH3-N is on dilution 20% during week 4 which is 288.

reliable and sustainable alternatives.

OBJECTIVE
The objectives of this study are to study the effectiveness
development of the Okra plant and advantages by using food
waste from fruits and vegetables and lastly to analyze growth
performance of Okra plant by measuring the plant height and
diameter of stem. Nitrogen Vs Dilution (%) Phosphate Vs Dilution (%)

1. Food waste is 3. Cover the container 5. 300g brown sugar

cut into pieces
2. Weigh material
based on ratio with black tape
4. 1.5kg food waste

From the result that has been achieved, it can be concluded that
the higher concentration of dilution, the higher the physical growth
of plant in height & diameter of plant and values of nitrogen
ammonia(NH3-N), phosphate(PO4-) and nitrate(NO3-N).
6. 1 bottle of Yakult 7. 3L of water is 8. 300g of meat is 9. The lid is covered 10. The compost is
is added added added tightly stirred every one week
