LOG (DLL)
Teaching Dates & Time MON-TUE Quarter 1

DATE JUNE 18, 2018 (MONDAY)

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of :

1. Cell Theory 2. Cell Structure and Functions 3. Prokaryotic vs Eukaryotic
Cells 4. Cell Types 5. Cell Modifications

B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to

1.construct a 3D model of a plant/animal/ bacterial cell using recyclable
materials
2. construct a cell membrane model from indigenous or recyclable materials

At the end of the session, learners are expected to:

1.Classify different cell types (plant/animal tissues) and specify the function(s)
of each.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives 2. Identify distinguishing properties/parts of an animal or a plant cell.

III. LEARNING RESOURCES

A. References

1. Teacher’s Guide Pages CHED/PNU Teacher's Guide General Biology 1 pp.8-12

2. Learner’s Materials Pages

3. Textbook Pages

4. Additional Materials from Learning

Resource (LR) Portal
B. Other Learning Resources PPT, Worksheet

IV. PROCEDURES

A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the Present a table comparing a eukaryote and a prokaryote. Let group 1 fill up
new lesson the first column on prokaryotes, then group 2 on eukaryotes.

Big Question: What are the distinguishing differences between an animal cell
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
and a plant cell? Explain the objectives of the day and task expected of them.

C. Presenting examples/instances of the new Show an image of a plant cell and an animal cell to answer the question
lesson posted.

Present the PPT on the difference between animal cell and plant cell.
Then Give the worksheet .Give students enough time to answer it. A
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing
new skills #1 pair will do to let them enjoy the task.

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing

new skills #2

F. Developing Mastery Do a simple game, "Where Do I Belong?', where students will group the cell
(Leads to Formative Assessment 3) parts/ properties as an animal or a plant cell characteristic.

G. Finding practical applications of concepts

and skills in daily living
How advantageous is a cell wall in plant cells? Also a vacuole?

H. Making generalizations and abstractions Differentiate plant and animal cell in terms of the parts and properties.
about the lesson

I. Evaluating Learning Students fill up a table comparing parts/properties of a plant and an

animal cell.
J. Additional activities for application and What are the different cell types? How does each type functions?
remediation

V. REMARKS

VI. REFLECTION

A. No. of learners who earned 80% on the

formative assessment
B. No. of learners who require additional
activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lessons work? No. of
learners who have caught up with the
lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to require
remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies worked
well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter which my
