A Note from our Principal:

Lakeside High School stands in solidarity with the sentiments

expressed in Mrs. Tyson’s letter and the DCSD. Racism, in all
its forms, will not be tolerated in our Viking Community. The
leadership is listening and is committed to ensuring the lessons
being learned translate into action. If you are being impacted in
a way that we can assist you individually or respond
systemically, please reach out to your counselors, faculty, the
leadership team, or myself. The word “Ohana” for the native
people of Hawaii means family”, or more literally translated,
“no one is left behind”. Let’s hold that ideal and stand together
with all people of color inside our Lakeside Family and beyond
so that LHS becomes part of the solution. I want Viking Pride to
include how we responded and came together as a community
in the months and years ahead.
