INTRODUCTION:

SWOT Analysis is simply a tool for organizing relevant bits of information about the
external environment (Opportunities and Threats) and relevant bits of information about
the internal organization (Strengths and Weaknesses). A SWOT analysis is a strategic
planning tool, useful for planning and decision-making at multiple levels within an
institution, organization or business. It provides information that is helpful in matching
the firm’s resources and capabilities to the competitive environment in which it operates.
SWOT is the first stage of planning and helps decision makers to focus on key issues.

INTERNAL ENVIRONMENT:

 STRENGTHS: An organization’s (or firm’s) strengths are its resources and

capabilities that can be used as a basis for developing a competitive advantage.
Examples of strengths that are often cited are factors such as experienced
management, state of the art manufacturing facilities, and a solid profit line
already in place.
 WEAKNESSES: The absence of certain strengths may be viewed as a
weakness. Internal factors that could prevent the achievement of a successful
result to the project. Factors such as a weak internal communication system,
unhealthy levels of rivalry between departments, lack of raw materials, and
inadequate funding for the project are often cited as weaknesses that can threaten
to derail a project before it even begins.
EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT:

 OPPORTINITIES: The external environment analysis may reveal certain new

opportunities for profit and growth of an organization. This classification has to
do with external elements that will prove helpful in achieving the goals set for the
project. Factors of this type could be the positive perception of the company by
the general public, a network of vendors who are willing to work with the
company to achieve success with the project, and market conditions that will help
to make the project desirable to the market at large, or at least a significant
segment.
 THREATS: Changes in the external environment may also present threats to
firm’ success. Among the possible threats that will be critical to any SWOT analysis is a
negative public image, the lack of vendors who can supply raw materials for the project,
and no readymade market for the final product of the project.

DISCUSSION:

Above analysis is done on the basis of available facts. These facts are discussed below:

STRENGTHS:
Strengths which are mentioned here are the SZABIST’S internal capabilities which make
SZABIST as one of the best business schools in Hyderabad. A number of strengths like
awarding of an international degree to BBA, MBA, BSCS and M.S. As we can know that
the students of SZABIST are international recognitions, they providing quality of
education among all the universities. The environment of the SZABIST far better than
others. The teachers are very cooperative with students. SZABIST has strong brand name
that’s why most of the students want to take admission in it. And the main thing is that
it’s situated in centre in Hyderabad so, it’s easy for the students and parents too. Now
SZABIST has become a big name in Hyderabad and giving very tough time to the
competitors. There are two intakes in a year spring/fall its totally working on a same page
as foreign universities works. It facilitates the needy students and offer them scholarships
resources and help the students to get benefits from that. The result is totally transparent
and the selection is based on merit basis. As we all know that there is no interference of
government because it’s private sector.

WEAKNESSES:
The most important weakness of SZABIST is its infrastructure there is no proper or
separate building own by SZABIST due to many students did not enjoy the university life
and other its name (i-e Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science And Technology)
due to which most of the people think its political affiliation with PPP which is a totally
wrong perspective. Also lack of transport service and accommodation facility to the
students is another weakness which make student to think before getting admission to
SZABIST. And the main issue for the students that is there is no option to park vehicles
inside the SZABIST. Every students park their vehicles outside the building which is not
safe.
