Goals

My career goal following graduation would be to obtain a job as a Mechanical Engineer

Technician for a company that is known for their cutting-edge technology and focuses on

designing and creating new advancements that assist people. I will achieve this goal by

furthering my education and attending Eastern Washington University for two more years to

get my four-year degree. Achieving this would give advantages like job stability, higher salary

and expand my career opportunities. While attending at EWU I would like to take on an

apprenticeship or find a job to become more familiar with my trade.

One of the many significant aspects in the Mechanical Engineering field is that it is

flexible by having a variety of different paths to choose from. My career goal 5 years from now

would be that I have completed my education at EWU and retained a career. I would have then

acquired the tools and necessities to advance within a company and be viewed as an asset. I am

confident that the MET field that I have chosen interests me and I take pride in. My career

would have excellent qualities and attributes consisting of benefits, positive working

environment, option to travel and opportunity for growth. Most of all it is important that I am

respected and valuable as an employee.

My 10-year goal is that I expect that I have overcome any challenges and obstacles that

come with a new job. I am positive that I will be an expert in my field and taken on the role of a

leader. I will inspire others and employees will turn to me for advice and see me as a mentor.

Possibly by this time I would start entertaining the thoughts of being an entrepreneur and
potentially start my own business so I can develop and manage my own projects. I will always

continue to challenge myself by setting goals. I value the importance of making goals and that

they are a key factor in your journey towards success.
