Semi-detailed Lesson Plan in

English for Academic and Professional Purposes

I. Objectives
 At the end of the lesson (60 minutes) the students should be able to:
a. Identify the ways on how to overcome an addiction to fast food
b. Enumerate and discuss at least three ways to overcome an addiction to fast food
c. Appreciate the importance of having a happy and healthier life through eating healthy
foods

II. Subject Matter

1. What are the advantages of fast food addiction?
2. What are the disadvantages of fast food addiction?

b. Motivation
1. Let the students play the “Four Pics One Word” game.
2. Group them into two and allow them to guess what’s in the picture.
3. The team who guess more picture will definitely win and have a prize.

c. Lesson Proper
The teacher will discuss the ways on how to overcome an addiction to fast food. That
would be:
1. Gather food addiction resources.
2. Write down your problems with food.
3. Make a lifestyle change, don’t start a diet.
4. Pack healthy meals and snacks.
5. Stop drinking soda.
6. Go to the healthier restaurants.
7. Write out a weekly meal plan.

d. Generalization

If the students understand the lesson properly, ask them a few question
1. Can you enumerate at least three (3) ways on how to overcome an addiction to
fast food?
2. Can you discuss or explain at least three (3) ways on how to overcome an addiction to fast
food?

e. Application

The teacher will let the students make an essay about the importance of
having a happy and healthier life through eating healthy foods. Give also
some examples of healthy foods we eat every day.

IV. Evaluation

To test their knowledge, the teacher provides a short quiz which consist of
ten items.

V. Assignment

Make a healthy meal plan that consists of your breakfast meal, lunch and
dinner.
