Thesis Title: “Development and Characterization of Silica-Chitosan nanocomposite for Drug Delivery
Application.”

 Synthesized drug loaded (Curcumin, cephalexin, Ketoprofen) nanocomposites (Chitosan, Silica,

Graphene Oxides ZnO, Gold) by different chemical synthesis route.
 Investigated the structural & conjugation properties of nanocomposite analysis done by using XRD,
FTIR, Raman, UV Vis spectroscopy & TGA.
 Studied the Morphological properties of nanocomposites by using Scanning Electron microscopy
(SEM) and Atomic force microscopy (AFM).
 Investigated the Mechanical and Electrical properties of nanocomposite-based microneedle array for
stimuli responsive drug delivery applications.
 Detailed physical, morphological and structural characterizations have been performed to optimize
the drug encapsulation and dose optimization done of nanocomposite and Microneedle array.
 Biological activities are studied by following OECD guidelines using various anti-microbial assays,
cell-line studies and animal studies for taxological evaluation. 
 Final prototype of nanocomposite-based powder and patches (MNs array) developed for the DRDO
Laboratory, namely DEBEL, Bangalore, where this work has been successfully delivered along with
the complete report and the Technology Transfer Document.
