Attainable: In order for goals to be attainable it must be realistic and feasible. (Setting
Wal-Mart the world’s largest retailer set well-design goals for 2010. In order to achieve
these goals it must be specific so that the employees could know exactly what to expect, when,
and how much. They must be understandable and unambiguous. Wal-Mart expected
achievement has a time factor that states when the achievement will be accomplished, and this
goal is expected to be achieved by January 2011. The goals that Wal-Mart stated has
measurability because it contains an over-all figure that specifies the amount of currency
consumption Wal-Mart would like to achieve within a specific period of time. This Wal-Mart
goal was attainable because their goals were set in opposition of their past experience. (Wal-
Wal-Mart has control over the supercenters and retail stores within the United States.
Wal-Mart primary income earner is the retail business which makes it the corset of the company
business. The firm retail market offers a great number of household wares, and also has a
food department. Wal-Mart establishment also consist of a membership warehouses like Sam’s
Club. In 1991 Sam’s club was opened in Mexico, and because of this Wal-Mart has been

The Twenty-four hours seven days a week Wall St., financial website, reported that Wal-
Mart “is expecting to add about 38 million square feet nation-wide instead of 44 million square
feet that was added the year before, Wal-Mart is expecting to increase nation-wide square units
comparative to 37 million square feet in the next fiscal year 2011.” Wal-Mart the world’s largest
retailer is expecting to set another goal by January 31, 2010 which is to cap-ex from $13 to $15
as opposed to the $12.5-$13.1 that they spent form January 2009 to January 2010.” (Ogg C.J.,
I will now explain how the firm will achieve tow of these goals. This large corporation
(Wal-Mart) will achieve its goals by increasing 38 square feet nation-wide stating 2011. The
corporation intention increase international markets to China and Brazil in 2010; the firm said
that this will to increase international revenues. The Corporation (Wal-Mart) second goal is to
increase cap-ex that will help to increase the nation-wide expansion aggressiveness in Brazil and
China, but because of the maidservant aggressiveness will take most of the share of the capital.
Indigenous Wal-Mart will operate Wal-Mart Money Center which will includes about
40% of its stores in the United States that is about 1,000 money center and expect to add 500
more in 2010. Wal-Mart’s is expecting to expand its money services which will includes the
sale of re-loadable VISA cards, cash checking, money orders, money grams and also bill
payments services. Wal-Mart also intends to continue in the U.S. to help on further improving
the return of its supercenters format through remodels of existing stores and by accelerating
