1. PURPOSE
This procedure establishes an orderly and effective method for tracking the submission, coordination,
review, evaluation, categorization, and approval for release of all changes to the project’s original scope.

2. SCOPE
This scope of this procedure includes CONTRACTOR’s field engineering reviews of clients design
package, which includes project specifications, IFC drawings and other engineering instructions in order to
resolve contradictions and thereby initiate field changes in concurrence with SAPMT / COMPANY
REPRESENTATIVES for South Ghawar UR Early Works & TCF project.

4. DEFINITIONS & ABBRIVIATIONS


4.1. Definitions
Approved: Review and formal acceptance characterized by the signature of
the final authorizing individual or organization.

Concur: Review and formal acceptance by initials or signature of an


individual or organization other than the final authority.
Review: Examination of a document for completeness and correctness. In
instances not involving a concurrence or approval, a response from
a document or package review grants general acceptance of the
item under the condition that any comments are incorporated in the
document
IFC Package: IFC packages includes design data, construction drawings and
supplier information as set forth in SAEP-334 and prepared in
accordance to SAES-A-202. This data is used primarily by
construction organizations and frequently by engineering or
operations organizations for quick reference.
As-Built Drawing: Engineering drawing that has been revised to reflect actual field
conditions after the completion of construction. Additions or

changes to a drawing resulting from facility modification must also


be verified as As-Built and referenced to the Job Order (JO) in case
of SAPMT, Engineering Work Order in case of Design and
organization code in case of operation.

Vendor Drawing: Any document by a manufacturer that supports the technical


requirements of material or equipment and received as part of a
purchase order. The vendor drawings are also governed by SAEP-
334 section 17.
Coordination Drawings: Contractor prepared drawings submitted by Contractor to
Owner to demonstrate:

1) The coordination of methods, materials, equipment,


systems, plans, or sequence the Contractor proposes to use
when limited space is available for installation of different
components.

2) The coordination required for installation of products and


materials fabricated by separated entities; and

3) The relationship of components shown on separate Shop


Drawings or submittals, when coordination among these
components is required.

5. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Construction Manager

During engineering execution process, the responsibilities of the CM may include


defining problems, investigating, finding and analyzing alternatives, and finalize
solution in coordination with other disciplines.

Technical Engineers
The technical issue raised by CM will be finally resolved and documented by the
technical engineering team, or else draft and submit TQ in case where SAPMT
approval is required for further process. Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings
and Field Change Requests together with redline drawings.

Document Controller
Maintain the FCR and TQ log on daily basis and issue the controlled copies of
approved documents for construction in comply with approved document control
procedure.

Responsible to prepare and review the coordination drawing before submitting to
SAPMT

6. PROCEDURE

6.1 The IFC packages (IFC Drawing/Specification) shall be first reviewed by the AMT
design department to identify any contradictions or conflicts with specification,
standards and bid drawings prior to submission to SAPMT for review.
6.2 Documents with no conflicts shall be issued for construction upon successful review
by SAPMT.
6.3 When any designs issues exist, SAPMT shall recommend for drawing revisions and
re-submittal.
6.4 The drawing issued for construction shall be further reviewed for completeness of
necessary details for construction with reference to actual site condition. If the details
are insufficient or incomplete, AMT design department t shall develop shop drawings
in line with IFC drawings with full coordination of area CM, and get SAPMT approval
prior to execution. Shop drawings shall be forwarded to SAPMT review through
document transmittal.

6.5 If multiple services are involved in specific area, MEP coordination drawings shall be
prepared in concurrence with SAPMT. Coordination drawings shall be prepared for
three specific areas, namely below grade, above grade walls and ceiling space.
Coordination drawings shall be submitted through document transmittal for SAPMT
review.

6.6 It may require modification to IFC drawings, shop drawings or coordination drawings,
such as re-routing of service lines to avoid clashes, which does not constitute any
design changes of the system, Field change of this category shall be handled through
Field Change Requests.
6.7 Field Change Request shall be initiated by discipline engineer, using the attached FCR
form with unique control number for each request showing the change in redline
drawing. FCRs shall be submitted to AMT design team for reviewed prior to SAPMT
review and shall be submitted through document transmittal.

6.8 However, upon SAPMT concurrence, these drawings (red line drawing) maintained in
a log of all FCRs, for necessary tracking of field changes which will be provided at the
time of testing, commissioning, as built drawing and Project hand-over package.
