MADHULIKA JASSAL
‣ INTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO
A Designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is
nothing left to take away. ~Antoine de Saint Exupery
ABOUT ME:

I am an Interior Designer from India and have been working in this field for the past 8 years. My
passion lies in design and innovative space planning. I work well with a group of like minded
individuals who help make the space come alive.

As an Interior Designer, I :

- Conceptualise spaces and rooms via a furniture layout by creating a mood board for the same.

- Give technical drawings and elevations for the set space .

- Prepare a detailed Bill of Quantities for preparing a budget for the set design.

- Material selection and procuring personalised goods according to the taste and preference of
client.

- Create an experience via my design which is both aesthetically pleasing and useful for both user
and builder.

My speciality lies in creating a design that is practical, utilises space to its maximum ability and an
aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using that space. Through planning and research,
I manage both the clients and labourers to execute the project to completion.

PROJECTS
CLIENT - Ms.Tapasya
THEME - CONTEMPORARY/MOROCCAN

This contemporary/moroccan
house is a great blend of classic
wood work complimenting a
South Indian household along
with a huge Spanish and
moroccan influence of patterns
and colours.

The beautiful villa spread across

two floors was an artist’s abode.
A surreal summer house away
from the main streets of a busy
city amongst the peace and
calm of Nature. A sun room/
working space was created
where she would spend hours
on her beautiful Thanjavur
paintings.

A Kitchen garden for her to

grow her favourite vegetables
and herbs. A home where one
Ground Floor can immerse themselves in
comfort and joy.
We faced a few challenges during construction
as it was an old building with unexposed beams
and columns. Some bedrooms had to be
completely broken down and remade again,
hence many civil changes but it was worth the
challenge.
Tapasya’s vision and our expertise led to this
stylish space which was once in ruins.

The next slide will give you a sneak peek inside

the Artist’s home.

CLIENT - Ms.Preeti Mukhija
THEME - CONTEMPORARY

Preeti came to me after her

DIY wallpaper change failed
poorly and she needed help.
What started as a simple
change in wall pattern ended
up in a complete makeover
for her living room.
My challenge here was that
her’s was a rented apartment
and I had to make minimal
civil changes and curate
accessories that matched her
taste.
This was a quick and fun
decor design implementation
which was highly successful.
CLIENT - Mr. Nakul Malik
THEME - Modern/ Quirky

This room was artistic, quirky and

gave Nakul a fresh start to his
teenage adulthood.
He needed a space where he could
ELEVATION -A
play his guitar, learn to master the
art of magic tricks with playing
cards and study for his Board
examinations with ease.
His earlier bedroom was dull and
old school and his study desk
wasn’t inviting for cognitive ideas.
I gave him a bright headboard
because that’s the first thing he
sees when he walks in. His study
desk was made more organised to
store his various text books. He
PLAN loved board games so ample
storage and hidden stacking was
the way to go.
Here is a before and after shot of
the bedroom for visual appeal.

CLIENT : Mr. Mohit Mandhyan
THEME : Contemporary/ Modern

Mohit was getting married and we had a month and a half to complete his bedroom and bathroom. For a designer, the designing
phase is generally what takes the maximum time but once our design was set, getting to work and executing this was smooth.
He wanted a simple, modern bedroom with subtle colour tones in beige and brown which compliment an adult bedroom.
His attached toilet was in grey and brown tones of Italian Marble tiles which went in the theme of the bedroom.

One of the most challenging prospects of Interior Designers is their communication. Mohit and I were always in sync and he was
able to communicate his thought process beautifully which led to an effortless execution and supervision of this project. We
were able to complete the project well in time before his wedding and now he has become one of our recurring customers.

CLIENT - Mr. Akshay Gambhir
THEME - Industrial

Akshay is the CEO of an Event

and Media company called
Curator. What he envisioned is
what we delivered and with
pride.
This industrial, fun co-working
environment was an interior
designers creative magnus. We
worked with materials like SS
and created partitions of
wrought iron and glass which
gave this office an outstanding
appeal.
With exposed ceiling and
electrical sections, this office
gave a raw and industrial feel
with fun quirky colours in some
parts to give the black a
compliment.
The handover deadline was
challenging , yet we delivered
on time and gave Akshay a
reason to come back to us
again.

“Cue” up for the Gentleman’s Lounge

A man cave for the men who

would hit some balls after work
and chill at this lounge later.

A snooker room lounge is a
perfect, cozy spot for a few
chilled beers at the club -
talking about politics and work.

We went ahead an extra notch

and created a virtual snooker
table on the wall which gave it
an artistic feel. Also check out
the art work on another wall.

A fun space to work with and

hassle free club administration -
this was a designers delight. The
compliments were a great boost
to our morale.

STORE : Ellementry, Bangalore

Ellementry is a handicraft store for all your home essentials required for everyday life. Their branding was based on the pillars
such as sustainability, form and function, food safety and all their products are handmade by crafted artisans. Based on these
pillars the entire layout was devised. Ellementry collaborated with a cafe to make the shopping experience also a leisure one.
It conducts workshops within the store on specific days and holidays hence I had to incorporate the cafe space into a display
workshop space too.
The challenge I faced here was scheming this grand idea with an Italian Architect and Clay design a Service Design company
and together create an Interior space which spoke the brand name through its form and function.

STORE : CreamBell Ice Cream Parlour, Bangalore

CreamBell is famous for its ice cream trucks and kiosks across India. They wanted to open ice cream stores pan India for the
first time venturing into stiff competition with Quality walls, Naturals, Amul and the like. Their entire branding strategy was on
milky, creamy and best quality milk ice creams. The general colour scheme for the store was in monotones of blue and white
for symbolising the creamy, rich texture of the milk.
The kiosk/ truck concept has been kept in mind while making the reception desk and display freezer counters. This was a fun
design only project that entailed a lot of understanding of the company’s branding , a customer’s experience from the moment
they enter the store till billing .
