Abortion is NOT essential, especially during this

pandemic | Opinion

In response to Kristyn Brandi's Op-ed, abortion is not only non-essential but dangerous to
women, whether during a pandemic or not. After seeing women for 35 years who have sought
abortion or had an abortion, I can testify that NONE felt it essential, except for resolving an
immediate problem. Often abortion occurs because of a domineering boyfriend (today we saw
such an incident); other times it is the choice of women coerced by the lack of information
about the procedure.

Women who realize their child has a heartbeat at 18 days after conception and a detected
brainwave at 42 days after conception refuse an abortion because they realize these are
benchmarks of life. I trust women who are informed because 85% who have aborted have
difficulties (physical and emotional) due to this what they were told was a safe, legal
option. They bitterly regret this 'choice' because they feel rightly deceived.

Minority women aren't told that abortion has long been used to reduce 'unwanted' children. It's
only AFTER an abortion that most women realize that Black Lives Matter for the unborn as
well. I trust women who are informed by the words of Jesse Jackson in 1977, '“Abortion is
black genocide…What happens to the mind of a person and the moral fabric of a nation that
accepts the aborting of the life of a baby without a pang of conscience?”

Brandi asks, 'Who will watch the kids while you are at your appointment'. I ask, 'Who will
explain to your kids that their aborted brother or sister was a choice? This choice was made with
little information so the provider could make a profit. Who will explain to the post-abortive
woman that 'choice' meant withholding information to coerce her to make a decision that will
impact the rest of her life?

BLM has helped us see 'hidden racism' - systemic racism. When African American's compose
12% of the US population but are subjected (often by deceit) to 35% of all abortions, Jesse
Jackson's quote makes a great deal of sense. Stop using Covid-19 as a cover for what abortion is
- black genocide.

Interesting quote from article: The pandemic challenges all of my patients, Dr. Kristyn
Brandi says. People who might have been excited to be pregnant are now concerned about
impacts on their health and that of their potential child.
