Background / Scenario
Convergence in the context of networking is a term used to describe the process of combining voice, video,
and data communications over a common network infrastructure. Technology advances have made
convergence readily available to large, medium, and small businesses, as well as for the home consumer. In
this lab, you will research the converged services available to you.

Part 1: Survey Your Understanding of Convergence

Step 1: Describe convergence as you understand it and provide examples of its use in the
home.
Write a definition of convergence and list at least two examples.

‘empaquetados’ en el mismo canal de comunicación, estos pueden ser voz, internet y Televisión(Stream de
video)
Ejemplos en el hogar: El router que tengo es de fibra óptica y trabaja con una red convergente, ya que tengo
conectado la línea telefónica con la línea de internet en el mismo router, (se aplicaría la integración de
servicios de voz sobre redes IP VoIP) También tengo el servicio de televisión y todo viene por una misma
línea de cable

of geographical location.
