Behind the spotlight: Confessions of Mutya ng Tiaong 2018 - Festival Queen

If you’re residing in Tiaong, Quezon and San Pablo, Laguna, you probably would’ve
heard the name Ally Margaret Prado, an 18-year old beauty queen who bagged
different crowns on both Tiaong and San Pablo including Mutya ng Tiaong 2018-
Festival Queen and Mutya ng San Pablo 2020-1st runner up.

Ally was raised in San Pablo. Due to business purposes, at 12, her family decided to
move to Tiaong where they live until now. At 14, she started joining school pageants.
Then, her first outside-the-school pageant was on 2018 where she snatched the Mutya
ng Tiaong 2018- Festival Queen.

With the roots and blood of San Pablo, she decided to join Mutya ng San Pablo where
she won 1st runner up.

Nothing comes to easy for Ally. She narrated that she was shy -- it’s only her teacher
and her mother that pushed her to join pageant.

“Effort and time” Ally reminded that entering this kind of industry doesn’t just about
the confidence, but above all is the personality you carry.

“Ang pageantry ay hindi lang basta hobby that you’ll be able to show your beauty,
talent, and knowledge, but I actually realized that it is a work.” she said.

Despite of all her accomplishments, she still has the common insecurity of every girl
-- their physique. She said that her body isn’t perfect, she confesses that she wants to
improve some parts of her body. Also, she reiterated that the comments of other
people doesn’t matter, what matter is how you handle and accept your imperfections.

Losing has nothing to do with your worth as a human. There are times that Ally
nearly give up because of tight schedule. From her training reaching almost 11:00 in
the evening to waking up at 5:00 AM for school. But, she didn’t stop thereand
reminded herself “No, hindi ka titigil.”

Truly, Ally is a queen with great grit and determination. In certain instances, her mind
was settled to become a licensed teacher and join a national pageant someday but
noted to be physically and mentally ready.
