“I will be there”: How Bb Niyogyugan 2018 prepares for her future endeavors

Successful beauty queens do more than setting goals -- they keeping an eye
on the goal all the time, front and center.

Indeed, Gezza Avila, 22, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Hospitality


Management Specialized in Cruise Line Operation Major in Culinary Arts at
Lyceum of the Philippines University - Batangas is not just setting goals, but
she is making sure that she constantly working hard to win. With that she
happened to snatched the crown Bb. Niyogyugan 2018.

As a goal oriented person, she said that her strongest foundation were her
family, especially her grandmother. Their support inspired her to become one
of the dark horses in pageantry. Hence, “Iba talaga ang kapag sa simula pa
lang may sumusuporta na sa’yo.” she smilingly said.

Life of Gezza is not always about rainbows and cupcakes as she failed to bag
the crown Mutya Pilipinas. She confesses that Mutya Pilipinas was the most
challenging pageant she had joined because she lacked of preparations. But,
she said that she struggled most because of their 25-days in-house.

“Within that 25 days, I was on my own because of the strict rules. We were
not allowed to have assistant or make-up artist. They can visit use, but they
weren’t given enought time to stay longer.” she narrated.

Moreover, she earns titles such as Ms. LPU Batangas 2016 - 1 st runner up,
Ms. League of Tourism students Philippines 2017, and Ms. Teen Candelaria
2017.

Through that challenge, she found the good in it as she made that failure a
lesson. In fact, it open doors of opportunities for her.

Recently, Gezza was crowned Ms. Universal Ambassadress of the Philippines


2019. She was about to represent the Philippines in Greece this upcoming
November, but due to the pandemic, it wouldn’t push through. But the
uncertainty turned into strength, as she prepares and composes herself for
her future endeavors.

“I promise to myself that I will be there.” she strongly said pertaining to


Binibining Pilipinas plans. She said that in the future she wants to represent
the country in an international pageant.

“Small act can lead to bigger result. Together we will get through this.” she
said. Motivated by the scene of hitting a goal, Gezza is looking for her next
target -- to shout the word “Philippines.”
