EE-361: Principles of Feedback Control – Fall 2019

Lab Project
[Project Title]
[Author(s)]

Introduction
 Put your problem statement here and define your control objective [this will come mainly
from project proposal, unless you have modified your project]
 Introduce your application here.
 {Optional Addition: Give motivation behind the project. How and why the authors chose the application?}

Methods and Materials

 Present, discuss your Block Diagram
 What did your group do, and how?
 Present your final mathematical model i.e. transfer function or ODEs etc. Give definition
of each parameter and discuss briefly how did you get the values of parameters. {Add
appendix titled derivation of model and give details of procedure in finding the
parameters}
 Briefly describe the process of designing and fabricating your plant (photos of hardware,
simulation block diagrams, etc. are encouraged here).
Good practice: label your photos i.e. indicate where is sensor, controller, actuator etc.
 Add table(s) (wherever necessary) to summarize your data. Avoid putting numbers in
text.
 Write concise and to the point. If you want to write on details of anything add appendix
for that.
Table 01: Example
Wire size 30 AWG

Core dia 12 mm

Spool Outer 22 mm
dia

Core material Electrical Steel [ur = 5000]

Ring material Aluminum

Results
 Present data collected from your project (graphs, tables, comparisons of different
controllers, etc. are encouraged).
 Describe your results
Conclusions
 How did your project turn out?
 Briefly state why it was or was not successful, how your project results relate to course
coverage.
References (If any)
Appendices (If any)
 Add your derivations, calculations, code, datasheets and other related work/ document
that is not presented in report body but is referred in report for reader.
