Final Project – 50% (Group Work)

Total mark: 100 marks

Explainer video: Digital Lifestyle


Instructions: Create an explainer video 90 to 120 seconds about any issues
related to Digital Lifestyle .

Choose topic that is interesting and useful to the public. Examples : Digital Wallet Security,
AI in Healthcare , IoT Smarthome, Autonomous Car, Augmented Reality for Architecture.

Step 2: Register your topic, title, and group members.


✓Registration will be opened on Monday 13 Jan 2020 (week 9). Title is based on first come first
serve basic. Please suggest two topics - just in case the first topic is rejected.
✓Group members maximum is 3.

Step 3: Brainstorm the content (submit in google form Monday 13 Jan 2020)

- Describe your title / service in 1-2 sentences


- Who is the target audience?
- What problem are you solving?
- What are 3 key benefits you want to include in the explainer video
- How does the technology / service work?
- What tone is the video
- Call to action
- List 3 to 5 URL as your main references
- Precedent study : List 3 to 5 URL of explainer video related to your topic

Step 4: Monday 20 Jan 2020 (week 10). Submit the audio script / narration and story board
(softcopy) ( mark=5%)

Show the script and storyboard of your explainer video. Consult with the lecturers and improve it
based on feedback by lecturer.

Step 5: Monday 27 Jan 2020 (week 11)


Submit a roughly created explainer video with rough voice over with all the content. ( mark=5%)
Step 6 : 10 Feb 2020 (week13) Submit and present your Explainer Video
Submit –upload Softcopy in Google drive and another copy to youtube.

Specifications
1. Duration min 90 sec , max 120 sec
2. Must contain animation, voice over (narration) and background music
During narration , background music volume must be lowered or removed and if no
narration , background music can be normal . Use suitable equipment to record narration.
Reduce noise in the narration . You may use other people’s voice. Do not use artificial voice
that sounds like robot.
3. You can use powtoon.com , animaker.com or any other tools.
4. Submit to google drive and another copy to youtube.

Marking Scheme
Week 10 submission 5%
Week 11 submission 5%

Final submission :
Creativity – 10%
Voice/Narration – clear and interesting 10%
Content/animation – 10%
Format – 10% - follow the specification
