SUBJECT: Proposal for the Renovation of the Institute
During our semester, we often heard our peers complain about certain facilities in the
institute not being up to the mark, in comparison to other universities. We decided to
document their concerns and work out the improvements that can be made via a
feasibility study.
With the help of online surveys, conversation, and interviews with TAs and staff
members, we were able to narrow down the problems and concerns that the inhabitants
of the institute have:
 Heating facility in the freshman hostels
 Sports facilities being subpar
 Faculty washrooms are not maintained
 Seepage problems in faculty buildings, visible in lecture halls
 Lack of reading material at the library

With these problems at hand, our team decided to take it upon ourselves to do a
feasibility study and come up with solutions to address these problems. After careful
research upon all the alternatives, here is what the team proposes:
 Bathrooms: With the help of the surveys and expert opinions, we were able to
narrow down the requirements to tackle the maintenance of bathrooms. New
sewage lines, tiles, wash basins and commodes are required, as the current
materials (listed) are not usable completely.
  Seepage: With the water and sewage pipelines being accounted for, the best
solution to tackle the seepage problem is to seal the buildings.
 Sporting facilities: After consulting experts and students alike, we have come to
the conclusion that this aspect of the institute is in need of a lot of attention. The
gymnasium is in need of new equipment. The tennis court needs to be rebuilt.
More funds are needed to maintain the cricket ground. New table tennis
equipment is needed.
 Heating Facilities: After consultation with experts, it has been concluded that
electric heater is the solution for constant hot water supply. However, to
compensate for the electric supply, we propose the installation of solar panels. In
this way, the electricity supply can be fulfilled while excess can be put back in the
grid
A detailed analysis regarding the cost and feasibility of the proposed letter has been
done in the form of a feasibility report, which is attached with this letter.

We hope that you consider our proposal and give the go ahead for this project. With the
support of the administration, we will be able to take this institution to new heights.
