On June 10, 2020, at approximately 4:43 AM, the Madison Police

Department received a call of an injury accident southbound on

Highway 51 at its intersection with Hoy Road. Police officers

and Madison Fire/Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene.

While proceeding to the location officers received information

that one of the drivers had fled the scene in his vehicle.

Officers were able to quickly locate and stop this vehicle on

Madison Parkway and detain the driver. Probable cause was also

developed that indicated the driver that fled was impaired. He

was subsequently arrested and transported to the Madison Police

Department.

Meanwhile at the original accident scene, the driver of the

other vehicle involved was attended to and extricated from her

vehicle by Madison Fire/Rescue personnel and police officers.

She was transported by Pafford ambulance to the University of MS

Medical Center with serious injuries. There were no passengers

in either vehicle involved in the accident.

Information received from witnesses indicated that a 2015

Nissan Altima was stopped southbound on Highway 51 at the traffic

signal at the intersection with Hoy Road at which time it was

struck from behind by a 2014 Toyota Camry which was traveling


southbound. The driver of the Camry then fled the scene in his

vehicle and was subsequently arrested by officers on Madison

Parkway.

The driver of the Camry who was arrested was identified as

Harrison N. Little, age 29, of Dallas, TX. He was initially

charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence and Leaving

the Scene of an Accident with Injuries. He is currently housed

at the Madison County Detention Center.

Additional and/or upgraded charges are possible as the

investigation of the accident continues by accident

reconstruction investigators from the Madison Police Department’s

Traffic Division.
