PERFORMANCE STANDARD The learner will be able to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of 21st century literature of the world
LEARNING COMPETENCIES Explain the biographical and sociocultural contexts and discuss how they enhance the text’s meaning and the reader’s understanding

PRIMING
Review: Entry Pass

Time Frame: 5-Minute (for every selected students)
Direction: The teacher will pick a student from the class and will ask question from the previous lesson about The Lottery by Shirley Jackson
ACTIVITY
Activity Title: Analyze It!
Nature of Activity: Individual
Time Frame: 5-Minute
Direction: From the video, the students will tell how the character portray in the short film.

Topic: The Last Leaf by O. Henry
Time Frame of Lecture: 5 Minutes Pre-Reading Activities, 10 Minutes Reading Time and 15 Post Reading Discussion

Direction: After watching the video of summary, the students will write a one-word idea and give short explanation about what they found out.
