CIM session with Piyush Sanghani

Piyush started his talks by thanking for the invitation to come and speak to the batch. I have
known Piyush personally so it was more important as a session to me.
He talked about his journey from engineering to MBA. He talked about the importance of
destiny in his career, his move from Canada to Chicago. He told about his belief in destiny
how he had to switch organizations when he moved from Canada and had to start his life all
over again but later that was the best decision he had taken.
Emphasis was laid on the importance of MBA and how this experience will enrich all of us,
he did talk about his own MBA experience and hardships of life.
He talked about the importance of being calm and positive attitude in life, also the law of
attraction. He mentioned the book the “Secret” which talks about the law of attraction and
how we can attract positive vibes and happy thoughts.
He talked about the Pandemic situation we all are surrounded by and how we all should
take this time for self-introspection. Utilize this time to learn some new skills and do
something new, learn any course.
He talked about how unprepared we all were for this COVID-19 situation, most companies
have a disaster management plan, but those plans were for situations like terrorist attacks,
natural calamities. No company was prepared for a pandemic, work from home or remote
were present but not much in practice. With this time, the laptops market suddenly grew to
a huge extent, and soon desktops might be things of the past.
He also talked about the business of TransUnion in India which he has set up and their
acquisition of CIBIL. There are around 1500 employees in India and they plan to grow.
He said things about the supply chain and how important they will be in the upcoming
future, also he sais not to worry about life after 30yr or 3 months.
At last, he said that we should not let anyone control our lives and change is the only thing
going constant in our lives. He also told us to be more adaptable and be good in networking.
It was a very refreshing session and he was very much open to questions from all of us.

Regards,
Meenakshi
