1.0 SCOPE
3.2.2 Check whether codes and standards to be followed are specified with
year of publication. Compliance of installation with local regulating
agencies such as:
(a) Inspectorate of factories
3.2.3 Check the type of area where the filters will be located such as
industrial, residential, nearness to coast, topography of area (paved
roads or as agricultural), etc. The construction activity in the area is to
be particularly mentioned in the specification of the air filtration
system, for consideration of appropriate air quality in the design.
ISSUE

3.2.5 The design air flow shall be the total gas turbine inlet air flow
(including cooling and pressuring air flow) at minimum ambient
temperature specified and considering a margin of 5% at 15 o C and 1
bar (a).
3.2.6 Efficiency of the filtration system including the size of particles in air
permitted shall be indicated based on the requirements of the gas
turbine manufacturer. Specify particulate as well as NaCl capture
efficiency.
3.2.7 Type of filter material such as paper cellulose media with resin coating
or synthetic material should be indicated. For offshore or onshore
installations near coast, water resistant media should be specified.
3.2.8 Check whether the source of compressed air for cleaning of filter is
from bleeding of the air from compressor of gas turbine or tap off from
station instrument air or the compressor air system or otherwise specify
source, parameters and indicate requirement of air dryer, cooler,
pressure regulator air receiver, etc. specified.
3.2.9 If compressed air system for pulse cleaning/air blowers for reverse air
system is included then specify the design features of the system such
as:
(a) Type and no. of compressor / blowers
(b) Design margin on capacity
(c) Air receiver capacity and number
(d) Requirement of silencer for air compressor /air blower inlet
(e) Type and no. of air dryer
(f) Type of after cooler for compressors including air/water cooled,
quality of water, tube material etc.
(g) Associated piping valves and fittings.
3.2.10 Specify the minimum differential pressure the filter elements have to
withstand as 380 mm WC.
3.2.11 Specify the maximum allowable pressure drop across filtration system
including filters, ducting silencers etc.
3.2.12 Specify the design pressure of the inlet air ducting and the filter
housing.
3.2.13 If air filter has to be carry additional loads such as due to stringing of
switchyard conductors etc., same shall be indicated.
ISSUE

3.2.14 Specify provision of trash screen for the filters with 25 mm square
mesh of minimum 6 gauge.
3.2.15 Specify the design features of the control system including the
following:
(c) Controls required for the compressed air system including that of
the dryer should be specified.
3.2.17 For installation in dust prone area, Bidders shall be given choice to
offer pre-filters as optional items. However economics of providing
pre-filters shall be established.
ISSUE

3.2.21 The inlet air shall be drawn from a point not less than 3 m above grade
level
3.2.22 Indicate location proposed for the compressed air system such as
compressor dryer etc.
3.2.23 Ask the bidders to furnish the calculations for quantity of compressed
air required
(a) Specify terminal points from compressed air system or from the
tap off from existing compressor air is sourced.
(b) Specify the parameters (pressure, temperature, and quality) at
terminal points for utilities such as compressed air and cooling
water.
(c) List of essential spares and maintenance tools & tackles.
3.2.25 The items for performance guarantee, under penalty (along with its
factor) and under correction shall be identified. The specific items are
listed as under:
(a) Pressure drop across the air filtration system including ducting and
silencer. Under penalty if air filtration system is procured
separately and under correction if procured along with gas turbine
generator.
3.2.26 The items for tender evaluation shall be identified along with its
evaluation factor. The specific items are listed as under:
ISSUE

3.2.27 Indicate that no credit will be given for parameters better than those
specified.
3.3 Check and ensure that relevant data sheets-As are properly filled up,
checked and signed by authorised design developer and design verifier
and suitably grouped.
3.4 All the inspection requirements of the mechanical items, list of which
shall be furnished to Inspection department, shall be checked and
obtained from them. They shall check and include the following as
applicable:
(e) Indicate shop testing of control system and tests for filters as per
ARAMCO specification.
4.2.1 Check whether the following points are covered in the tabulation of
Purchase Recommendation pertaining to the recommended Bidder(s):
ISSUE
R2
(a) In case certain cost loading have been done for the items not
conforming to the specification or items not clarified, the same
is highlighted.
(b) All the points on which clarifications and confirmations are to
be obtained from the Bidder before placing order are listed.
(d) Copy of the minutes of meeting (if any), with the recommended
Bidder during bid clarifications stage is attached for reference.
