C. Review of Previous Lesson

Who can recall the previous topic

discussed yesterday?
(Aljun raises his hand.)

Our topic yesterday was all about nail

care, nail care tools and materials, safety
procedures, procedures for manicuring
and pedicuring.

“Very good, Aljun.”

What are those nail care tools? (Bobby raises his hand.)

The nail care tools are nail file, pusher,

emery board, nail cutter, cuticle nipper,
nail brush, cuticle scissors, orangewood
stick and buffer.

“Yes, very good, you named it all

Bobby.”

D. Motivation

Before I will introduce our next topic,

Let us have an activity first. The title
is “Guess me”.

I am going to group you into three:

(Teacher let the students count then
divide them into three.) Group 1,
Group 2, and Group 3. I have an
envelope with me; each group must
get one. Choose one representative
then please stand up. At the count
of three, you must open and read it.
Once you got the answer, just raise
your hand only. Whoever raises
his/her hand first, will be the first
one to answer.
Did you understand my instruction
class? Is it clear to you?
Yes, we understand it ma’am.
(All students are in their group now.) They
are working with the activity).
How did you find the activity?

“The activity is fun and nice. It is

somewhat like a brainy game. We
learned something from it.” Gina
answered.
“Oh, yes. Thank you for that Gina.”

Did you guess it correctly?

“No, ma’am. It’s a little bit difficult since

we lack of time to think of the correct
answer.” Ria, said.
“Oh, I see but that is okay Ria. You
still participate.”

Some answered it correctly, so what

do think will be our topic this Kent raises his hand
afternoon. Ma’am, I guess that our topic today is
about nail art or designing nails.
“Yes, exactly you are correct, Kent”

Developmental Presentation

E. Abstract

Our lesson for today is all about the

Five Basic Nail Designs.

Painting is an art. It can be done on

canvas, illustration board, and cloth
skin and even on nails. If painting is
done on nails, it is known as nail
art.

Now, what do you think is nail art?

“Nail art is creating a design with your
nails with nail polish.” Joselyn, answered.

“Yes, you are correct Joselyn.”

Nail art is a creative way to paint,

decorate, enhance, and embellish
the nails. It is a type of art work that
can be done on fingernails and
toenails usually after manicures and
pedicures.
A manicurist who could artistically
work on various nail designs is
practically called nail artist.
