A1.
Since I have been deputed in the Centralized Network Operations Centre
(CNOC), the first week in the department I was given a tour of the office to
familiarize the whole operation and process. The Second week was
dedicated to learning and understanding, how and what work is
performed to let the network working without any issues. Few books
were provided to understand about computer network. While learning
about the basic of Computer Network, I came to know about what
protocols are used for transfer of even a single byte of data. The whole
process of learning continued till Third Week. Then comes the time of
hand-on experience and practicing all the learning on hardware. A lot of
challenges were faced during this phase. Learning Shell Scripting
commands was also a hard and long step. Learn about the role played by
primitives in the OSI reference model as well as how all communication
takes place in this type of reference model. Learn how application
software interact with TCP/IP protocol software. Learn to find network
and host addresses from IPv4 addresses.
A2.
The second project assigned is to model and manufacture
different parts of the thrusters for testing purposes.
Have a brief knowledge in certain sections of rocket propulsion
such as theory of nozzles.
Various components of thrusters like combustion chamber,
flanges, propellant tank and nozzle has to be modelled on
SolidWorks software.
Once the above models are prepared the next task is to get them
manufactured.
NOTE- All the parts made for thruster testing is to be made from
stainless steel.
A3.
Next project assigned is on thruster testing.
The first task is to have a brief knowledge about various sensors
and components used in the thruster testing setup.
Second task assigned is to find the various performance
parameters for a thruster.
Next job is to calculate those performance parameters, for
example - temperature and pressure of different components
experimentally.
A4.
My fourth project is to design and manufacture a kite or sail for a
Heli-kite.
Acquire a brief knowledge about the Heli-kite surveillance
system .
First job is to model a Heli-kite on SolidWorks software.
The second task is to manufacture the sail using a polythene
After manufacturing the sail the next task is to find ways to attach
it to the balloon.
A5.
The fifth project includes integration of surveillance system and
its attachment to the balloon.
Second job is to start testing the Heli-kite in order to check
whether the sail and the surveillance system is working properly
or not.
Once the above tasks are fulfilled, the next task is to design and
arrange various components required to build ground station for
the Heli-kite.
Develop an automatic inflation system for the balloon.
Develop an automatic system to control the Heli-kite during
extreme weather.

B1.
For the fulfilment of project A1 a lot of data which were
calculated from previous experiments are available in order to
determine the environment of the combustion chamber and the
propellant tank.
Many research papers are available on the development of
various monopropellant thrusters.
A lot of data is present online about the company manufacturing
thrusters for different space organisations.
B2.
For completion of project A2 lectures on Rocket propulsion by
Prof.K.Ramamurthi, Department of mechanical engineering, IIT
Madras is available.
SolidWorks software is available for modelling different
components of thrusters.
Various metal workshops are present for manufacturing parts of
thrusters.
.
B3.
A previous working model of the thruster and tools is available in
IC engine Lab for the completion of A3 project.
Various kinds of sensors like thermocouple, pressure sensor,
flow meter, solenoid valve are available for calculating various
parameters of the thrusters.
A data logger is also available for recording the various data
acquired during thrusters testing.
