‘condition and that the customer will be fully satisfied
with its pertormance right from the start
‘The illustrations and instructions on the following
ages give the proper sequences for assembling the
John Deere monitors.

Mounting Tires
Failure to follow proper procedures when mounting
tire on a whee! or rim can produce an explosion which
‘may result in serious injury or death. Do not attempt to
‘mount a tie uniess you have the proper equipment and
‘experience to perform the job. Have it done by your
John Deere dealer or a qualified tire repair service.
When sealing tire beads on rims, never exceed 35 psi
‘or maximum inflation pressures specified by tire man-
ufacturers for mounting tires. Inflation beyond this
maximum pressure may break the bead, or even the
rim, with dangerous explosive force. If both beads are
not seated when the maximum recommended pres-
sure is reached, deflate, reposition tire, relubricate
bead, and reinflate
Detailed agricultural tire mounting instructions, includ~
ing necessary safety precautions, are contained in
John Deere Fundamentals of Service (FOS) Manual
55, Tires and Tracks, available through your John
Deere dealer. Such information is also available from
the Rubber Manufacturers Association and from tire
manufacturers,
Electrical Connections
Keep all sparks and flames away from battery, as gas
iven off by electrolyte is explosive. To avoid sparks,
‘connect ground cable last and disconnect it fist.

When planting volume-metered (small) seeds,
the pounds per acre will have to be converted
to seeds per acre, Refer to the planting rate
charts and information under charts in the
planter operator's manual for average number
of seeds per pound. Take the average seeds
er pound and multiply by pounds per acre.
This will give a very rough average seed/acre
population
Subtract 50 percent of this for a starting LO
WARN limit. After the actual planting popula-
tion range is displayed, the LO WARN limit
may be changed to a closer tolerance.
Area
‘The monitor provides two area counters: field area and
total area. Total area provides a running total, such as
acres planted for the entire season. Field area can be
used for each field and reset to 000.0 upon competion
of a field
IMPORTANT: Loss of battery power to the console
from disconnecting the power leads
or disconnecting the console from
the power module will result in a
loss of area inforniation in the con-
sole.
