THE EFFECT OF PRODUCT QUALITY AND PRICE ON

ORIFLAME PRODUCT PURCHASING DECISIONS ON


STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC
EDUCATION UNIVERSITY OF HKBP NOMMENSEN
PEMATANGSIANTAR

This study aimed to determine and analyze the effect of product quality
and price on Oriflame product purchasing decisions on students of the Department
of Economic Education at the University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar.
This type of research is quantitative research with survey methods. The type of
data that used is primary data and secondary data obtained from questionnaires
and literature studies. The population in this study were all students of the
Department of Economic Education of the University of HKBP Nommensen
Pematangsiantar, in 2018 and 2019 with a total of 261 students. The samples in
this study were 78 people taken with research methods based on the philosophy of
positivity with using the simple random sampling techniques.

The results showed that the quality of products and prices together or
simultaneously had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions for
Oriflame products at students of the Department of Economic Education at HKBP
University Nommensen Pematangsiantar. Partially known product quality and
price variables have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions for
Oriflame products in students of the Department of Economic Education at the
University of HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar. The quality of products is the
most dominant variable affecting purchasing decisions.
