BCA Final Year Project
Completion, Submission and Examination Guidelines.

How to begin a project work:

 Attend the contact session organized by respective Study Center
 Form a group of 2 students
 Take recommendation letter from the coordinator of the Study Center
 Visit industry, an office or any suitable organization where IT related activities are
being carried out.
 Discuss with External Guide (Industry person) and identify a project topic
 Choose and Internal Guide
 Discuss the matter with internal guide
 Review the literature
 Prepare the project proposal
 Submit project proposal to the internal guide for approval

Writing a project proposal:

 Project proposal should be clearly and concisely written (not more than 4 printed
pages)
 The proposal should demonstrate student’s understanding of the proposed project
 Title of the project
 Names of students in a group, Internal and External Guides
 Introduction and background
 Problem statement
 Project description (preliminary design and methodology)
 Software platform (operating system, software packages and languages)
 Hardware platform (computer systems and other peripherals and devices)
 Tentative schedule
 References

Project Completion Process:

Student should submit project synopsis along with names of group members. Project
guide will be assigned to each group.
Faculty member should guide students on respective points only, and not to help them in
writing code, they should help students in the technical and design part only.
Students should first study project with details, show all relevant diagrams and
documentation to project guide. Student should prepare first FDD, CLD, ERD, DFD and
database design and get checked by respective internal faculty. Then only student can start
project coding.
There should be constant communication with project guide to discuss project status. On
completion of project a demo should be shown to project guide.
Two copies of final project report, one for the Vidyapeeth and another for each group
member should be submitted before the examination, other wise student will not be allowed to
appear for Viva.

Incomplete project will not be evaluated and students won’t be allowed for appearing the
viva.
Unbound & loose sheets, unacknowledged copies will not be accepted and no viva will
be conducted for such students.
Non-compliance to any of the above rules won’t be allowed for appearing the viva.
Late submission of the synopsis and report shall not be accepted. Only in situation
beyond control, concession may be granted only by request from center / college in-charge.

Project Report Format:

First page: Project Title along with the name of student/s, center, college name and
Vidyapeeth name, the same will appear on binding pad. (Sample Enclosed)

Second Page: Certificate is towards partial completion of the course on his/her name or name of
the group members. (Sample Enclosed)

Third Page: Acknowledgement. (Sample Enclosed)

Forth Page: Project synopsis. (Only one page, containing technical details)

Index: Should contain the name of the topic along with sub topics and page nos.

Paper Size: A4 Size, Normal Paper, 1-inch spacing on all side.

Text Format: Font – Times New Roman (12), Topic Heading can be bold / underline only, Style
– Normal, Paragraph – Indented, Line Spacing – 1.5, Alignment – Justified.

Illustrations: Figures, Flow Chart, Diagram, DFD, Screens should have name and number.

Project contents: Project; should begin with introduction and include detailed project
coverage of the work.

No of pages: Minimum 80 and Maximum 150.

Third last page: Future scope, limitations or boundaries

Second last page: Conclusion & Developers comment

Last page: References & Bibliography

Binding: Book Binding / Spiral Binding / Hard Bound

Submission Date: 15 days of before the semester examination.

Viva Date: As per schedule. (1 or 2 week after the written & practical examination.)

Examination Center: Only at TMV, Pune.
