CONCLUSION
➢ This project is designed to develop a new system that can
solve this problem where drivers may not brake manually
but the vehicles can stop automatically due to obstacles.
Using ultrasonic as a ranging sensor, its function based
on ultrasonic sensor. After transmission by transmitter,
the wave can reflect when obstacle detected and
received by receiver.
➢ Ultrasonic Sensor ( transmitter and
receiver )

➢ Microprocessor ( ARDUINO UNO R3

)

➢ Electric motor ( DC gear motor )

➢ Servomotor

➢ Braking system
PNEUMATIC
COMPONENTS
➢ Pneumatic single acting cylinder
➢ Solenoid valve
➢ Brakes
➢ IR Sensor
➢ Electric motor
➢ Servo motor
PNEUMATIC SINGLE ACTING
CYLINDER:
Pneumatic cylinder consist of piston, cylinder which
means that air pressure operates forward and spring
return backwards.
SOLENOID VALVE:
The directional valve is one of the important part of
a pneumatic system.these are used to operate
mechanical operation.
Brake is a mechanical device which inbihits motion
showing or stopping a motion object or preventing its
motion.brakes generally applied to rotating axles or
wheel.
A sensor is a transducer used to make a
measurement of a physical variable.
ELECTRIC
MOTOR:
An electric motor is an electrical machine that
convert electrical energy into mechanical energy.
SREVO
MOTOR :
A servo motor is a rotary actuator or linear actuator
that allow for precise control of angular or linear
position.
Before transmitting the ultrasonic wave, there is a part
which is ultrasonic wave generator that function to
generate ultrasonic wave.
Ultrasonic
Receiver:
If the ultrasonic wave detect the obstacle, it will
produce a reflected wave. An ultrasonic receiver
is used for receiving the ultrasonic waves reflected
from the road surface obstacle to generate a
reception signal.
➢The compressed air from the compressor
and then passed through a pipe conneted to
the solenoid valve. When the timing control
unit is actuated then air entering into the
input goes out through the two output.

➢ .
➢ Reduce road Accident
➢ Safety of Driver
➢ Stop the vehicle in shorten Distance
➢ Prevent the damage of vehicle body
➢ Quickly sense the obstruction
➢It acts instantaneously in case of
emergency
➢It operates with the least effort by the
driver
➢ Overheating of a wave emitter precludes the energy of
ultrasonic waves emitted there from being enhanced to a
practical level.

➢ Interference between the projected waves and the

reflected waves takes place, and development of
standing waves provides adverse effects.
➢ It is impossible to discern between reflected waves from
the road surface and reflected waves from other places or
objects.

This project presents the implementation of an
Automatic Braking System for Forward Collision
Avoidance, intended to use in vehicles where the
drivers may not brake manually, but the speed of
the vehicle can be reduced automatically due to
the sensing of the obstacles.
