RS, La é ; \ ji / Important Announcement Metallurgy Materials Engineering To: All Members appearing in AMIIM Examinations Dear Members, This is fo inform that to promote and facilitate education and development of working professionals, since 1962, the Indian Institute of Metals has been conducting qualifying professional AMIIM examinations in Metallurgy to assist persons engaged in industry, teaching oF research, to qualify as equivalent to metallurgical engineers. The Dept. of Education, Govt. of India had approved the syllabus, vide no. F 18-91/61-1.2 dated 02/04/1964 and UPSC had recognised the qualification as equivalent to graduation in Metallurgy, vide No. F.1/15/68-RR dated 31/10/1968 for the purpose of recruitment fo superior posts for which a Degree in Metallurgy is prescribed qualification. In response to the letter no. 13-56/PC/ODL/Mode/AICTE/2016/144 dated 18" April 2017 issued by AICTE for reviewing existing programmes of Technical Education run by different Professional Bodies / Institutions, our indian insfitute of Metals sent all the details relating to .. AMI course as per the prescribed format. Afterwards, The President of IM and Secretary General presented the activities of IM especially AMIIM before the AICTE Board upon being called to do so. There has been no objection or demur, whalsoever from AICTE to such response / presentation of lIM. The Insfitute is yet to receive the reply from AICTE. in these circumstances, The Institute is eligible fo conduct the AMIIM Exams as usual.
