Podcast

This guide will give you all the
information you need to get
started making a podcast for
your church.

Starting a podcast is one of the


easiest ways for your church to
reach beyond the 4-walls.

Let me layout the checklist or


outline. We are shooting for the
beginner so if you want to do
something bigger than what I
layout go ahead.

This will be the essential items


needed no matter what type of
content you will be serving.

1. The Content Decide on what you will
be using as your content.

I personally use my
preacher's sermon as my
content.

2. Recording The Content

Believe it or not, this is the easy part. I'm going


to assume that you have some form of sound
system in your church with a sound board and
someone has access to a smartphone. Any
modern or even old-school sound board has
the classic red & white RCA connections.

2.Recording The Content cont.
Android or Apple phones all Connect the RCA audio to

3. Editing I highly recommend you get
Audacity. It is a completely FREE,
Software editing program available for Mac,
Windows, and Linux.
You can make corrections to your
audio made on your phone if needed
but we are mainly using this to add
our intro and outro parts of our

to record the following intro &
outro:

5. Podcast Hosting

And select Normalize Loudness. If

always be changed.

URL. Copy this, you will need it
soon.

6. Submitting To Podcast Services
The hard part is done. Now we can submit our podcast to
services like iTunes, Spotify and Google Play.

For iTunes Submissions:

1. Sign in to iTunes Podcasts Connect


2. Click the  at the top left of the iTunes Connect dashboard.
3. Enter your RSS feed into the provided text box and then click the
“Validate” button.
4. A Feed Preview will load if you do not have any validation errors.
Please take a moment and review your podcast artwork, description,
general information (e.g. description, categories, etc), and episodes.
Please see the Validation Errors section if you have any problems
validating your podcast feed.
5. If everything within the Feed Preview is correct, click the “Submit”
button.

6. Submitting to Podcast Services

For Google Play Submissions:

1. Visit g.co/podcastportal.
2. Click “Get Started.”
3. Login with your Google account.
4. Click “Add a Podcast.”
5. Review and accept the terms of service.
6. Enter your podcast-only RSS feed.
7. Check your email in RSS Feed and verify your ownership of
this podcast feed.
8. Click “Publish Podcast.”
9. Wait for approval.

6. Submitting to Podcast Services

For Spotify Submissions:

1. Go to Spotify for Podcasters. Login or create an account.


2. Click "Get Started" on the "Submit your podcast" page.
3. Read the terms and conditions, check the box, enter your
legal name, and select "Continue."
4. Enter your RSS feed URL into the provided box and select
"Next."
5. On the "Add podcast info" page, select your country,
language, category, and hosting provider and click "Next."
6. Review your podcast details and click "Submit."

7. Congratulations

You now have a fully


functional podcast ready for
your church's sermons to be
shared all over the world.

Please note that some services


may take 2-5 days to
completely sync.
