Semi Detailed Lesson Plan in Electrolysis

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

 Describe the process of electrolysis


 Identify the components of water
 Appreciate the importance of electrolysis in everyday life

II. SUBJECT MATTER

 Laptop
 Board and Chalk

B. MOTIVATION
“Fix Me, Please”
The students were divided into three groups, each group will be given a
colored paper which are cut into different sizes and shape with a word written on
it (ELECTROLYSIS). Each group will arrange the pieces of cut papers to form
the word, once they formed the word another members of the group will tell
something of what they know about the word.

C. ACTIVITY
The teacher will play a video on a laptop/television about the process of
electrolysis of water. The students should analyze and understand the video
presented.

D. ANALYSIS
Guide Questions
1. Based on the video presented what is electrolysis?
2. What are the components of water?
3. Explain how electrolysis happens
4. What is Cathode? Anode?

E. ABSTRACTION
1. What is electrolysis?
2. Explain how components of water are separated through electrolysis

F. APPLICATION
What are the uses of electrolysis in our everyday life?

IV. EVALUATION
