MMA vs Box
"A boxer is like a lion, the biggest predator on earth, but you throw it in
a shark tank and it's just another meal"

For a long time contact sports have been evolving but this time we will
talk about and treat the issue of MMA VS BOX because there has
been much controversy about which is better and here we will clarify
that. And as mentioned above, lions are only food for sharks.

The MMA is a sport where the combination of combat techniques from

various traditional and modern martial arts is used in order to use it for
competition in combat sport or for non-armed personal defense.
The use of mixed martial arts is the greatest contact that exists, since it
allows both the use of techniques to fight standing or striking (striking:
punches, kicks, knees, elbows, etc.) and techniques to fight on the
ground or grabs (grappling: drops, throws, keys, joint dislocations,
strangulations, etc.) that come from a variety of other combat
disciplines or martial arts such as karate, kickboxing, boxing, muay
thai, taekwondo, judo, wrestling, wrestling Greco-Roman, Brazilian Jiu-
Jitsu, Wushu, San Da, Sambo, among others.
Now we will talk about the box is a combat sport in which two
opponents fight using only their fists with gloves, hitting their opponent
from the waist up, inside a quadrilateral specially designed for that
purpose; the fight is carried out in short sequences of fight called
assaults or rounds and according to a precise regulation, which
regulates weight categories and duration of the meeting, among other
aspects.
As we can see there is a big difference between these two sports but
still what makes the MMA much more real I mean that in a study
conducted by the Researchers of the University of Toronto examined
the records and videos of 884 bouts of " Ultimate Fighting
Championship "from 2006-2012 for a study which has been published
this month. They found that in 108 fights or almost 13 percent ended in
knockouts. Another 179 fights, or 21 percent, ended in technical
knockouts, usually after a fighter was hit in the head 5 to 10 times in
the last 10 seconds before the fight was stopped.

A study by the American Journal of Sports Medicine found that a third

of professional MMA fights end by knockout or technical knockout,
indicating a higher incidence of brain trauma than boxing.
With this we can understand better that the box is much more
marketing than the MMA. A clear example is the boxer Floyd
Mayweather, if you get to observe in detail his fights he just walks
around the ring to avoid contact with his opponent and thus not hurt
himself while winning millions of dollars, instead if you see a fight of
MMA you can Realize that the hostilities between the opponents is
much more aggressive and when the assaults begin both competitors
go out to hit each other with all their might no matter how much money
they are going to win.
On the other hand, the box is considered more a business than a sport
because its profits are much greater than any other sport and that
causes a large part of the population to bet on boxing events.
We know that they are different sports and we can´t compare them at
all but something that is very evident is that a person who practices
MMA is more likely to win than a boxer because of the combat
characteristics.
Because a lion can´t be with a shark. The result will always be the
same, it is just one more meal.
