REPORT A brief report of the one day International Multidisciplinary Webinar on Technology amidst Covid 19 Pandamic; An Initiative to evolve Resources conducted by NVKSD College of Education in collaboration with Council for Educational Administration and Management (CEAM) Tamil Nadu chapter on June 4, 2020 from 10 am to 4 pm. The Webinar started at 10 am by invoking the God Almighty Nallur Vettuveni Kandan Sastha. there are 5 sessions in the webinar -The Inaugural session, the thematic session, the panel discussion session, the paper presentation session and the valedictory session. 1.The inaugural session Dr. S. Devika, Assistant Professor and Co-ordinator IQAC, NVKSD College of Education gave a nut shell of the webinar. Dr. B.C Sobha, Principal, NVKSD College of Education welcomed the gathering. Adv. S. Krishna Kumar, The Secretary, NVKSD College of Education presided over the webinar and delivered his presidential address. In his address he emphasized the role of technology in empowering teachers for effective learning in these days of crisis. Dr. C.P.Sreekandan Nair former dean Sree Sankaracharya Sanskrit University, Kalady inaugurated the webinar. In his inaugural address he highlighted the importance of technology in combating pandemic crises. Dr. Arun Kumar Goswamy, Professor and Chairman, Department of Political Science and Director South Asian study Circle, Jagannatha University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and Dr. Deki C Gyamtco, Professor, Paro College of Education, Royal University of Bhutan presented the key note address. Dr. Deki from Bhutan highlighted the pandemic management through the digital learning techniques.Dr. V.M.Sasikumar, National President, CEAM expressed his notes of appreciation to the webinar. 2.The second session The thematic session commenced by 11.15 am. Dr. V. Reghu, Former dean, Professor and Controller of Examination, Rajeev Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Govt. of India and national consultant, CEAM, Dr. Madhuri S Issav, Associate Professor, Tilak College of Education, Pune and Chair person, CEAM, Maharashtra and Dr. K. Rajeshwari, Principal, Govt. College of Teacher Education, Kozhikode and National Treasurer, CEAM were the resource persons 3.Panel Discussion Session The thematic session was followed by the panel discussion. Dr. M.S. Geetha Former Dean and Principal Government College of Teacher Education, University of Kerala and National Vice president CEAM was the moderator of the session. Other eminent panellist were Dr. K. Y Benedict, Principal Mar Theophiilus Training College , Thiruvananthapuram and National General Secretary CEAM, Dr. Shnaoli Chakraborti Acharya, Assistant Professor, West Bengal State University, Calcutta and Chairperson CEAM West Bengal Chapter, Dr. Bobby Mahanta , Principal, Dhupgari College of Education, Jalpayguri and Chair person CEAM Assam Chapter, Dr. V.P.Bindhu Gowri, Assistant Professor, NVKSD College of Education and Dr. K. Gireesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, NVKSD College of Education. The main theme of the Panel Discussion was the effects of COVID 19 on humanity. The sub themes include the Prons and cons of COVID 19 on education, Master minding for crisis management, Colours of crises depicted by social media in the global pandemic situation, COVID 19 and global environment and The impact of COVID 19 on travel and tourism Industry. The session was a very informative and fruitful one. 4.Paper Presentation Session For the convenience of the paper presenters the session was divided into two. The first session was chaired by Dr. Nimmy Maria Oommen, Assistant Professor, Titus II, Teachers College, Thiruvalla and National Secretary CEAM and Mr. P.S. Prasad, Assistant Professor, NVKSD College of Education. Dr. Madhubala.J, Former Principal, Kerala University Teacher Education Centre, Karyavottom and National Liaison Officer CEAM and Dr. R.P. Deepa, Assistant Professor, NVKSD College of Education, chaired the second session. The paper presenters presented different aspects of COVID 19 pandemic and the significance of the technology during these days. 5.Valedictory Session Dr R.Mukundan, Former Principal of NVKSD College of Education gave his Valedictory Address. He opined that teachers should make use of technological equipment and resources to make their teaching effective in this age of technology. Dr S.Devika presented the resume of the webinar. Dr S.Praveen Kumar thanked the participants for their valuable participation. Participants’ profile The total number of 310 National and International delegates from, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Assam, Andra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Bangladesh, Bhutan participated in the webinar. 16 papers were presented in the webinar. The webinar was conducted on Google Meet Platform. Dr. Shyam Lal G.S, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Mahatma Gandhi College, Thiruvananthapuram was the Technical Consultant of the entire programme. Dr. P. Sheela, Librarian and member IQAC , NVKSD College of Education welcomed the resource persons and Dr. S. Praveen Kumar, Assistant professor and member IQAC delivered vote of thanks to the resource persons during different sessions. Dr. V.S Pavithra Kumar, Assistant Professor , NVKSD College of Education was the in charge of the Q-A session. Dr. B. Sheela and Mr. K.P.Kannan, Physical Education Director, NVKSD College of education led the anchoring team. Ms. Pooja.PS, Ms. Sajitha Sajan and Ms. Benika Shyl. K.V were the anchors. and Mr. G. Biju Mohan, Computer Instructor, NVKSD College of Education provided the technical support to the webinar. The webinar was supported by all the eminent members of the management and all the academic and administrative staff of NVKSD College of Education, The renowned educationist of CEAM provided logistics guidance to conduct this webinar. To conclude by the grace of our college deity Nalloor Vettuveni Kandan Sasta, the webinar was a very fruitful, productive and informative one.
