Statement of the Problem:
1. What are the quantity and composition of waste water produced by industrial plants
2. What are the advantages of this process to the other water treatment processes?
3. What are the environmental impacts of bio-augmented process?
Objectives:
1. Find out the advanced method for the treatment of waste water so that water after
treatment can be reused for various purposes in eco-friendly manner as well as it can
able to restore aquatic ecosystems.
2. Improve the efficiency of treatment plants to clean industrial wastewater
3. Long-term and sustainable solution to the growing scarcity of water worldwide is to
recycle and reuse wastewater.
Project Description:
A promising long-term and sustainable solution to the growing scarcity of water
worldwide is to recycle and reuse wastewater. In wastewater treatment plants, the
biodegradation of contaminants or pollutants by harnessing microorganisms present in
activated sludge is one of the most important strategies to remove organic contaminants from
wastewater. However, this approach has limitations because many pollutants are not efficiently
eliminated. To counterbalance the limitations, bio augmentation has been developed and
consists of adding specific and efficient pollutant-biodegrading microorganisms into a microbial
community in an effort to enhance the ability of this microbial community to biodegrade
contaminants.
Significant of the Study:
1. The implementation of low cost sewage treatment that will time permit selective reuse
of treated effluents for agricultural and industrial purpose.
2. A promising method for solving practical problems in the installation of industrial
wastewater plant treatment or waste water treatment, as well as to improve the
efficiency of removal.
