1. Create a measurement document

1.1 Objective and task description

In case of the preventive, breakdown maintenance and inspection, some measuring points are defined
in which the maintenance teams enter the measurement readings using measurement documents.
A measurement document is a snapshot value in the time of the measuring point.

1.2 Prerequisite
The measuring points have to be created.

1.3 Glossary
Measuring point : physical or logical position where you measure the operating conditions. There are
two types of measuring points :
 The ‘counter’ measuring point (ie : counting the run time of a machine),
 other measuring points, qualitatives…

Measurement document  : records the measurement readings from the measuring point.





 Complete the following fields :

Field Mandat. Description

Measuring point X Measuring point number to be read.

MeasTime X Date and time of the measurement.

By default, the system displays the time from the

measurement document transaction opening time.

Entry format is DD.MM.YYYY / HH:MM:SS.

Read by X Name of the person in charge of measurement reading.

By default, the system displays the user ID for the current

SAP session.

measuring point

 Complete the following fields :

Field Mandat. Description

Documtd after task If needed, select this box to indicate that the measurement
readings from the measuring point is performed after the task
execution on the functional location. 
Valuation code X First field : code group that contains the valuation codes for the
(code group/code) measurement readings that have been automatically entered for
the measuring points.
Second field : only the available codes which are listed above in
the selected code group.
Text If necessary, enter a short text about the measurement
document.

from the measuring point.



 to go to the measurement document list of a measuring point (by default the measuring point
is used as a selection criterion).

If no measurement document is assigned to a measuring point, the system displays the

following message :‘No object selected’.




If only one measurement document is assigned to the measuring point, this immediatly displays
in full (see the following screen hard copy) and the list-oriented screen above doesn’t appear.

 Select the measurement document.

 to go to the selected measurement document.

 to go back to the measurement document list.

 to return to the screen selecting the measurement documents.

 to go back to the initial measurement document in process of keying.

 Save the measurement document.

Measuring reading X Quantitative value of the measuring point.

Text If necessary, enter a short text about the measurement

document.

If the measurement reading is outside of the limit range which is defined in the measuring point,
the system generated automatically a PM notification (type”NA”).

1.5 Display

The measurement documents can be displayed individually using the transaction IK13 or collectively
using the transaction IK17.

1.6 Change

The measurement documents can be changed individually using the transaction IK12 or collectively
using the transaction IK18.
