TYPES OF MASKS

Factors in Considering the Type of Face Mask:

1. Type of materials

2. Filtration efficiency

3. Number of layers

4. Combination of material used

5. Mask shape

6. Coating of fabric

7. Mask maintenance

Different Types of Masks:

1. Paper or Cloth Face Masks

-stops large particles that comes from respiratory secretions like saliva and mucus.

2. Cotton Face Masks

-more effective than paper or cloth face masks but still fail to filter much smaller particles

3. Surgical Masks

- the most commonly used type of mask during the pandemic and has a high protection from

the virus due to its relatively high filtration rate. Disposable and good for single use.

4. Totobobo

- as a for personal-use mask, this type of masks uses a reusable filter and can be adjusted for the

comfort of the wearer.

5. N95 Masks

-filtering 95% of fine particles, this type of mask effectively grants protection to the wearer, but

due to its shaping, it can only be most effective if it’s the right size and is worn correctly. It also

causes a harder time in breathing, causing discomfort.

6. Vogmask

-considered to be the best anti-pollution mask, it is perceived to be more effective than N95

masks and is also re-usable after washing.
