The Appropriate Solution

Polyimide films
An excellent choice for high temperature insulation and processing applications
thanks to:
» very high heat resistance (between 120°C and 350° for short periods)
» high dielectric strength
Examples: Intertape® 4118, Isotape® 4428 PV3, Intertape® 4429, Intertape® 51579

Speciality
»T
he unique characteristics of these tapes make them extremely suitable for high
voltage insulation applications.
» Zone coating (4564) allows complete impregnation of the varnish.
»A
n innovative backing (51600 PV3) provides unique properties to fulfil
application requirements of new generations of coils.

Polyester reinforced glass filament

These tapes are mainly compatible with insulation oil for immersed transformers. An
excellent choice for heavy duty bundling insulation thanks to:
» high tensile strength with glass filament
» high dielectric properties from the polyester film
Examples: Intertape® 4238, Intertape® 51597, Intertape® 51599 PV1

Glass cloths
» Flexibility and conformability are key features of this product group.
»H
igh heat resistance and tensile strength of the glass cloth fulfil many electrical
insulation application requirements.
Examples: Intertape® 461FR, Intertape® 4616, Intertape® 4617, Intertape® 4618,
Isotape® 4627, Isotape® 4637PV3, Isotape® 4638 PV3, Intertape® 54562

Polyester laminates
Both types of polyester laminates offer unique properties.
» Paper/Polyester offers bulk, stiffness and is hand tearable.
» Polyester/Non-woven offers excellent puncture resistance and conformability.
» Higher temperature performance with acrylic adhesives.
Examples: Intertape® 4426, Isotape® 51044PV3 Intertape® 51595, Intertape® 51596,
Isotape® 54354

Polyester films
»E
xcellent combination of qualities: high insulation properties and high dielectric
strength at low thickness (25 μ).
»A
crylic adhesives enhance these films by giving the products good chemical and
solvent resistance.
» Some polyester films are UL Flame Retardant.
Examples: Isotape® 50501, Intertape® 51587, Intertape® 51588, Intertape® 51594,
Intertape® 54108, Intertape® 54113, Isotape® 51350PV3, Isotape® 51350PV3-2,
Intertape® 51589
