AUTOMATIC WHITE/BLACKBOARD CLEANER

Information and function:

Cleaning blackboards or whiteboards consumes a lot of time while teaching. We here propose an
automated blackboard, whiteboard cleaning mechanism that cleans entire boards automatically
with just a button click. Our system uses a set of frames, brackets, supporting rods, Dusters,
motor, rollers and driving circuitry in order to achieve this mechanism. The system is designed to
save a lot of time and unnecessary effort needed in cleaning boards. It is designed to clean boards
in a less than half the time required to clean the blackboard/whiteboard by a human. For this
purpose we use dusters mounted on shafts which are inturn connected on a supporting frame .
These shafts are connected in such a way, so as to provide a proper circular cleaning motion that
is needed for cleaning the board. We now use a motor to drive these shafts in required direction.
Now we also need to ensure entire board gets cleaned. So we use a set of rollers to mount the
upper and lower part of frame in that section. We now use a second motor to drive the entire
duster frame in a horizontal motion so that we get the entire board cleaned as the frame reaches
the other end of the board. Thus we put forward the design and fabrication of an automatic
blackboard/whiteboard cleaner mechanism.

Objectives:

The work presented in this paper is on the preliminary design and

fabrication of an automated whiteboard cleaner. The objective here in
is to reduce the man power involved in cleaning white boards after
use. Though the use of smart boards is increasing, many i
nstitutions in the developed and developing world still make use of white boards.
And the main purpose also is able to help a lot of PWD’s teacher/professor. They don’t need
effort or use strength to erase the board it also benefits for teacher that suffers from asthma and
pneumonia or avoid it.
They will no longer inhale the airbourne particles made by chalk (for blackboards). Lastly this
project will support and continue the dreams of those person willing to be a teacher even they
has a disablities.

Significance:

In this Project, the idea to develop an automated whiteboard eraser system is a spontaneous idea
while teaching in the lecture room and finally it was successfully done followed the early
planning. This system could be practice and maybe need minor modification for commercialize
purpose. The system also could be control around ten meters far away by using remote control
and this make user easy to use it. But in this research, only concentrated on mobile whiteboard
and for wall whiteboard it may need some modifications and other attachment components.
Scope:

In the present time not everything is automatic but seeing towards progress of present
technology’s , In future everything will be operated automatically .
So this project will serve as one of the advanced technology in future and will be installed in
every college, school, etc. Seeing towards our basic version, there are some ideas for the future
development of Automatic Blackboard cleaning System.

1)Operatein schedule –
this machine can be set up the time. It can operate automatically when we set up the time we
want it work.
2)Eye of machine –
we can make this machine operate with detection of dirty in whiteboard.
Machine knows the location of dirty and erases it automatically.
